A few Alliance server changes moving forward

Hi all,

I just wanted to take a minute to discuss a couple of new things that will be happening on the Alliance server when it resets in a few days.

The biggest change is that starting next set, we'll be charging $15 to register a tag, with the proceeds being donated towards a worthy cause.

For the last several weeks, we've all be watching the bloodshed in Libya, so we'll be sending this money to help end the suffering and bloodshed in that civil war-torn country.

Muammar Gaddafi has been in power for nearly 40 years, and what is happening right now is just completely unacceptable to see.

We must ensure that we do everything we can to help arm the Libyan people, even in the face of overwhelming international airpower and as the CIA begins to arm the enemy with weapons.

We'll set up a PayPal link on the page to purchase the tag, or you can deposit the money directly into a Libyan government account. Be careful though, because a lot still seem to be frozen :-/

we've all been too busy to code that kind of stuff into the game

we had lots of good ideas, but we've all been spending our time making updates... no one took it upon themselves to code anything like we did for Christmas :p

there are actually a lot of good updates which should be rolled out in a few days.... probably one of our bigger set of changes since we launched the game
most of it is to alleviate lag issues when fighting + cleaning up some other core pieces and improving the user experience across the board

pfft I wouldn't give 2 cents to help someone in Libya. Should just napalm the entire country. Then Iraq and Afgahnistan (sp?)

Then when the fires stop burning go and take all their oil (spoils of war) and split it up between the NATO nations. And live happily ever after minus some desert people.

Pang I actually think the idea of being able to "reserve a tag" for money wouldn't be a bad idea it would give the privileges of your tag not being stolen. For 10 - 15 bucks.
