link and derrick - thank you for being forthcoming with your confirmations that laf did not steal tech, which was the major reason included in your war dec that 'laf will never net again'.
to summarize as discussed
1. LaF set SOL and Elders on DNH to begin the set when they chose not to PACT, because of this LaF knew at least 1 of them were probably coming for us so we prepped for war countries and kept most countries at stored turns from 1k turns onward and be ready for a CS, we would not FS anyone.
2. iScode and Warrior land traded
3. Elders TF LaF but honored 80% land:land in retals, LaF chose to not freak out about the TF, which other clans might not have done.
4. LaF was accused of tech stealing earlier on in the set, we confirmed that no one in LaF had stolen tech and then reinforced not only were SOL and Elders set to DNH but that no offensive spy atks were authorized
5. LaF also had tech stolen over the course of multiple times. It looked like SOL and Elders had NW change times that matched up to the steals against us, but without any fails we didn't have conclusive proof. We did bring this to Elders attention based on knowing many in Elders were still upset about the AB OOP FS last set and previous accusations against us on tech stealing. Derrick confirmed that Elders had not stolen tech from us either.
6. Tech stealing it appears was happening to multiple alliances but no one had proof of who was doing it.
7. War was declared by SOL and Elders and part of the reason for FS gangbang was based on tech stealing accusations.
8. After following up with Elders again; about that tech stealing was not from LaF, we dug deeper and Elders discovered that it was actually an untagged (#310) that was doing the tech stealing. We went back and confirmed that it matched up to our tech stealing times as well. So the "ruse" is up.
9. So here we are in a war/gangbang against LaF and other smaller clans based on an untagged pot stirring country. LaF's stance had been to mend relations between Laf and Elders and LaF and SOL. LaF had refused to break uNAP against SOL just 2 sets ago to help our FDP at the time, SoF.
10. Obviously this isnt going to stop the war, but it obviously shows that LaF was not lying, and was actively trying to mend relations as we do want to go back to netting. If 2 of the 3 biggest alliances want to war, they should probably war each other and leave the netting alliances alone.
I still think there's a place in this game for everyone to have fun without any long term grudges and without dragging netting alliances into wars they just aren't too interested to be in (this is generally speaking though, and not a reference to the current war which is pretty fun for me at least). and if elders and sol ever wants to do a netting competition, we'd be down for that :)
