What ever happened to SKY or Titans? (there are others, just having a hard time remembering names lol)

Titans collapsed 2-3 resets in. Elitez got caught cheating far too often and killed far too often. Some of them are around elsewhere but mostly they left or fell apart years ago.

Nukevil, I still don't understand why your chart shows MD merging into and then breaking off of IX. I don't think that happened.

That's Tirol's old alliance tree. It gets kinda confusing where MD and Armada and Monks all merge together and then IX exists.

Back when I first created this tree, ppl pointed out that there were some errors with Tirol's tree, but I don't remember anyone saying anything about MD. I haven't done anything with this tree in a while.

Everyone always thinks Ragnarok was born out of TGA but that actually is not true.

making alliance-tree which is 100% correct might be hard task since there's been so many mergers and spinoffs.

MI was not born out of TGA either. It had recruited some TGA players, but was actually founded by three former members of the OOA.

Boatswain, Loch Sloy, and Timberwolf were the first three overlorads of the original MI.

That is funny. Apparently one of my resets on and off back then, was when the Titans were around. I figured they stayed for another year, or at least until I came back. I do remember Elitez merging with someone, but now I know it was TIE.

I forget how CNAxSWAT came about, but sometime after that I kinda lost interest in 1A for a while.

um I don't remember Iccyh being a MD pres. But my memory sucks. When what was left of Titans (what I remember first reset we netgained, second reset we declared war on RD, third reset RD striked back, fourth reset people started to quit) merged into MD, I believe Iccyh was against it and didn't come. He may have joined later though.

Yeah, I am back but have been keeping a lower profile this reset. But regarding Titans...first, it's hard to believe that people still remember an alliance that only lasted a few resets when discussing the 14+ years of Earth history.

If I remember correctly, I had a falling out with Ampy and some of the MD leadership at the time, had either been inactive or semi active and was looking to play again. So I started recruiting, found out that AoD was looking to take some resets on a break in another alliance and capitalized on name recognition of some fellow players. I did a lot of this selfishly to kind of get a fresh start and just see what I could "build from scratch" again (altho it was hardly from scratch). These were the "Megalomaniac Samoan" days where I was Evil Mod Samoan and really needed to stop playing earth and get a job (was kind of in the "done with school, don't want to grow up yet" period)...but instead I spent it on E2025!

The first reset worked out well, just basically copied the MD formula that had worked out well before and positioned for a netgaining reset. Spent a lot of time grovelling before IX so they would not hit us in the inagural reset to give us time to establish ourselves. The second reset I started getting a little bored and started to get inactive again. Grelk was heavy into the RD research at the time (and I believe did his expose with Beltshumeltz during this reset). We had our "netgaining reset" and were looking for a war with no natural enemies...when I more or less left permanently mostly into that reset I left grelk partially in charge and the war against RD started (as an extension of his research). That was pretty much the doom of Titans...HH and co. held the fort valiently but it was too much, and since the alliance was born out of a "mercenary / hired guns" style of recruitment it was hard to hold together as the large pieces broke back off.

I'm not really happy about that period in the game...I did a lot of harm to an MD that was trying to recover (in recruiting away some of the MD vets), but it did give some folks opportunities to grow and get leadership experience that might not have had the chance in their other alliances.

Iccyh was definitely MD pres at one point.

I think he was, but I'm not sure if he was elected. U think someone just passed it off to him/ stepped down.

Titans was good fun, and it was always fun to play with, and then compete with former MDers. Just like Samoan said, it made MD vets that stayed work harder and rebuild larger than ever eventually (220plus members I think at one point)

Mergers and spin offs were cool because everyone always ended up back home in MD ;)

Supports my theory, that spinning off alliances is good for an alliance:)

Those first sets of Titans were one of the most fun sets I've played. The ammount of active members we had was just crazy.

Yeah, the wiki list is more accurate than Nuk's post, for one thing Syris and Daren served between Smart Liberal and myself. Incidentally, I'm 99% sure it was Iccyh who recruited me in to MD from #softsheep 8)

I just went to archive.org and put in MD's old contacts page, and stepped through all the available page changes. Archive.org only went back as far as 2001.

I was playing Evony last year and joined a clan called NAFTA. The reason i joined was because Chervont was the leader...... So i suppose SKY elitz is playing Evony.

Armada dissapeared 3 resets or so prior to IX's creation. Armada disbanded after their war with LaF.

IX was a product of a merger between Monks, WoG and "EoS" (EoS was already long gone, but they pulled in a bunch of their old members and called it a merger).

Damn MD has had a few presidents. I don't remeber how Iccyh ended up MD pres. I don't think he had been with MD for that long in Aug 2002. When did Titans merge with MD?

Like...3 or 4 resets after splitting off MD. Think it was due to leadership all having lives.
