why do SOL cap the "o" but SoF doesn't

both stand for "of" but SoF goes with a lowercase and SOL goes by uppercase.

is it because the community made it that way? or the alliance founders historically represented themselves that way

I think its to Diffientiate the two differnt clans, you can't have SO and think SoF.

It's because SOL is pronounced by most people as "soul" wherease SoF is pronounced by most people by saying each individual letter (rather than just saying "sof" as in soft without the 't') I don't know how or if or why that would change the way you spell them, but it's the only real difference that I can think of.
