I'm just going to farm and tech, then sell my goods for really cheap for all to enjoy!
It's just for fun while I get the hang of this game again.

So expect to see stuff like $8 bushels, $15 Oil, and Low-cost Tech.

you need to quadruple your bushels and oil prices so that those reach market and techs price need to be atleast 1k.

like ipardless said small batches get bought quickly and make no difference. you'd need to be able to sell couple 100ks bushels and oil and couple 10ks points to affect prices.

Sell at tech at $1001. $1000 never reaches the market. Not sure that selling cheap will let you get the feel for the game imho but have fun. That's why express is great, trying different ideas out without spending a whole month in the process.

I think food and oil sells to your private market if you sell at below the private market sell price... I'm not sure if tax is included in that. but it would mean that a theo MBR can sell lower than anyone else.

This used to be the way it worked, but that was E2025.

I did this with the tech market a few years ago. I basically FSed the tech market with low-priced tech, incrementing in price with small batches of tech to a point, then starting over. It was wildly successful. A farmer won that set, IIRC.

Okay, yeah, update with this:

I'm seeing that the bushels are selling, but it's not giving me any info beyond that. So the whole "Auto-bought" thing is making the bushels not available publicly, as Marshal said.

So, I'm going to try $10/bushel, see what happens.

In other words, and I'm really tired of saying it, and I'm sure everyone is, but I'll say it again. Marshal just talks out of his ass with incorrect information. It is a disservice to new players. It is an act of vandalism because it clogs up any searches made on the forums with garbage. Marshal should be banned for posting un-researched, incorrect crap. And I'm absolutely serious.

In E2025 bushels sold for under the private market sell price would be autobought by the private market. I didn't try that on EE tho.

We tested this all out a couple years ago, when there was major cheating and market coordination going on by some experienced players. Oil barrels were being put on the market in the millions at $21 and being bought in a coordinated scam by another player. The actual auto-buy prices were determined and posted at that time when IZarcon got involved because the mods can't see market transaction data. If you were to search on the Express forums and filter out all the crap and disinformation posted by our buddy Marshal and others, the correct prices are there somewhere.

But this is a useful test that Briggs is doing and I look forward to seeing the results.

Well, it's looking like $15 for Oil and $25 for bushels.

Going to try and fiddle with it some more.

EDIT: $13 Barrels, gonna try 12. But $25 for Bushels is the Minimum, no lower.

EDIT 2: Looks Like $13 oil, and $25 Bushels is the minimum for non-auto-buy.

Now, I'm going to try this:

A country low on acres, but high in Tech.

Resoning behid this: The fewer acres you have, the more effective technology is, and the fewer points you have to sink into tech to see the benefits of it.

well you won't be producing much either. tech isn't exactly more effective on low acres but cheaper to get tech(s) maxed so in a way its more effective.

It is ofc way more effective to be fat and have high techs than to be thin and have high techs.

I recommend a standard all-exp rep casher. In Express it should be quite possible to get 20-25m NW with all-xp rep casher most resets.

If you wanna get higher you probably gonna have to do some market magic but its quite doable given the highly predictive nature of the express market.

Yeah, trying this out isn't quite panning out as I expected to. I didn't know that Tech effectiveness maxed out based on your acreage.

I thought I could have small acreage to make my tech more effective with fewer acres. Don't get me wrong, it's king of cool knowing I'm holding this many turrets within less than 300 acres. The visual is kind of funny.

Testing stuff is fun! Going to start mapping out what I want to try next set. Perhaps something more war-oriented.
