Fishing in warm waters of the Gulf and Caribbean is more fun. And you don't have to go to Canada. Which is a plus!

Yeah, I just want to go somewhere else. I should just go to the bay and pay some money. I would not mind fishing for shark.

Ontario aka land-o-lakes arguably has the most usable freshwater anywhere in the world.

There is World Class fishing practically everywhere in the province where this is a lake, river or stream; of which there are approximately 250,000 - 333,000 provincially managed bodies of fresh water depending on which government ministry you are referencing and what year the literature was developed. The fishing regulations vary depending on which zone the water body is located in.

If you are looking for extreme isolation fly-in fishing, with a chance making a world record freshwater catch, Northern Ontario is nearly impossible to beat and most of the other comparable locations are also located in North America.

Bass season should be open province wide by the third Saturday in June, it has been closed since December of last year. Pike season re-opened province wide a couple weeks ago.

Given the current value of the US dollar versus the Candian dollar, you might feel like a millionaire if you decide to visit Ontario.

I never thought fishing on a frozen lake in a heated shack drinking beer was a good idea....

Great fishing in canada, we usually go to the Molly river in Ontario, north of Timmons. I've seen pike so big, I'd be afraid to put them in the boat. The smallmouth and walleye are good too. Just don't let yourself get bitten by flies, if they are biting, move to a different area.

Its very primitive, but thats how we like it.

For fresh water fishing, Ontario by far has the most decently accessable camping/fishing sites without having to go really far north. Quebec apparently is pretty good as well.
I live near Lake simcoe which supposedly has decent fishing but Timmins is probably much much better.

To understand, just look at google maps and see all the water/lakes once you go north.
And yeah, don't go there in the winter unless you really like snow..

To be fair, northern saskatchewan is nice too..:P
