I am kind of a noob at this game, but how in the world can anyone keep the prices this high? Is there no one else who wants to sell lower? Also is anyone even buying?

Because this is the stockpilling phase..and some people are manipulating the market to make a profit.

Why sell it lower if people will buy it higher?

When people stop grabbing pretty soon, the oil price will crash. In fact it had already come down and too many people probably converted and removed their oil rigs from their builds, causing the price to go back up here.

I can afford to grab with oil at $400+. But can you afford to retal me with oil at $400+?

I make my own, 450 rigs, cant grab everyday, but every other day is good enough, I'm at 24k acres right now, so far im the highest ranked Tyr, next one down is $5m NW behind me ;)

Aren't you a techer KoH? Oil rigs will make your tpt lower, and you don't need to grab anymore at this point.

probably not, think of all the costs. $35m to knock down the labs and rebuild the land as rigs, $35m more to transform it back into labs when you're done. about 10 turns spent building between those two times, that's turns not teching, probably another $100m cost. and rigs are only more effective than labs at your size if oil is selling over $350 or so. it'd have to be selling a lot more than $350, or you'd have to use a lot of oil, to pay that $170m back. but i guess it's small potatoes. the bigger issue is why you'd still be attacking right now at all.

I didnt knock down any labs, i hit people with Oil rigs + built some :p
