I'd like to do something next week that isnt land-limited. I swear this whole 4k thing was driving me nuts after attempting twice (totally ran out of steam by end set).

Haha same here - had to leave for an appointment during end set and server was down. :( Had around 80M bushels stocked or so, was planning on doing a DMBR oil destock. Nice thing about only having 4k land is that you can rebuild it all in like 80 turns.

Repeating the challenge from the Sept 19 reset due to the server downage at the end of the set, so we didn't have any clear winner. Same rules:

Clarifications:
- You're allowed to drop acreage (but keep in mind the limits for dropping acreage in any 24 hr period!). If you go over and don't immediately drop, you'll be DQ'd.

Agreed on keeping the challenge participant list internal, after how this went went. I was looking forward to this one, and yes, staying alive as a Tyr casher at war was near impossible.

Lol I'm only surviving because of the 400 bushels I make per turn.

Right now I'm just trying to see if I can break 7 digits with my final NW >.<

I'm rebuilding while my suicider continues to hit, so being able to afford enough bushels to run each turn is a major issue. Stealing cash from techer bots is the only thing that keeps me from being completely unable to run turns!

General rule: If you got creative and are thinking "I've found a loophole!" then it's probably not kosher. This is about getting creative with your execution of a world with limited choices, not trying to find backdoors into the world of unlimited choices.

If you're thinking, "man, this is a really crappy country" then you're doing it right

Next week sounds good to me.
I think Tyr right away is the true test, but if someone switches at turn 100 it's not going to ruin the fun.
Something like 50-75% minimum ent/res is probably right, it's the spirit of it more than any hard rule I think. If someone is 50% ent/res and 40% labs, then so be it. If someone is 50% ent/res and 40% farms, but is only buying agr tech, then I'd say that person inst following the spirit of the challenge.

One point of clarification - I think the rules should be that you have to be a Tyr all set - no destocking as a different govt. But what do you guys think?

A: It means being a casher is your primary strat. There isn't a hard and fast rule for this, and nobody is being appointed as the neutral judge, but are you really winning the challenge if you aren't following the spirit of it? If you absolutely demand guidance, here's some: you can do whatever you want for the first 250 turns, but if you aren't more than ~65% ent/res after that (and probably higher if you really want a pure win), then you probably aren't challenging yourself properly.

A: Man, seriously guys? Stop fighting the question. Turn 1, switch to Tyranny. Don't touch the switch govts button anymore for the set. It's that simple.

This one would be hard to enforce and interpret. Do you have to build up evenly after every grab? What if you don't have the cash? Is it ok to be imbalanced for a bit?

Let's do something more straightforward. Id suggest one of the following:
1). "Commie no indy" : you must stay commie all set, and can't build more than 10% indies.
2). Tyr casher challenge
3). No tech challenge. All set, no tech allowed.
4). "Bots are friends": No landgrabs allowed against bots.
5). "Drop it like its hot": At turn 900, you must drop half your land before playing any more turns.
6). "Size doesn't matter, it's how you use it" : 4000 acres max, all set.
7). "Tit for tat": You must perform a successful harmful attack against a human player before each landgrab (against anyone)
8). "Mehul's revenge". No spies allowed.
9). "Size matters". Fattest country at endset wins.
10). "General Sherman reporting": tanks (and spies) are the only military allowed.
11). "DIY". No using the public market for anything.
12). "Battlebots". Last man standing, no going over 300 acres.
