Scode three points.

1
How long did council last for?
Did lafs netting dominance subside after the move to council? No it did not, in fact for the duration that i was active LaF increased its netting dominance over everyone else.

2
As for cheating I'd disagree with you. There were much bigger cheaters around the game than laf. With the exception of elites most of them cheated to assist/help win wars.

3
For a period of time i held a senior position in laf leadership, dont try to tell me what was or wasnt going on within. Its like me saying imag was full of rednecks who got their cows and sheep to play countries when ive never stepped foot inside your alliance.

My comments were directed at Nukevil than you.

sfluffs is a vocal member of laf. His opinions are well known, but he doesnt represent the overall opinions of laf as a whole. Evo itself has or had members who held similar views about laf.

. . . . .

Talking about winning netting titles is pretty much a moot point. No matter which way you slice it no one has won as many, as often or for as long as laf.

im pretty sure at the end of E2025, there was an unanimous agreement on jolt to that effect.

Ok. you destocked 1bn food as a theo on 45k.

How long did you stock for? and on how much land? What was the food market like?

There arent many if any countries in the game that would be able to go on and stock 1bn food this set. Not with food at 65$. Especially nothing tagged tie.

not enough land to get that much stock, food price is too high, cant destock that much in time etc al.

Thats just silly.

1- Its an oversimplification of diplomacy
2- Does nothing for 'informal out of game' agreements.
3- Not going to solve the problems with the game.

The real problem with the game is the player base, not something that is going to be fixed with micky mouse band aid stuff like this. Expand the player base, then most of the current problems will be solved.

Hrrm i see what you mean.

A 10% random variation is huge. You wouldnt want to decide to play casher, only to find pci is 10% lower, or food production is 10% less. If it happens then luck will be a major variable in the top ranks.

The game has lost alot of dynamicism....mostly from the dwindling player base more than anything else. I dont think anything that dynamic will need to be added in if we are looking/hoping to expand the game. The influx of new players will take care of all that.

The game cant support a drastic change like this atm, everything will be out of whack. If the game takes off post fb, then its doable...as the reasoning for the 2bn limit is quite silly nowdays.

For now maybe double the limit to 4bn instead of 2bn?

eh?

I thought there was an universal agreement that the oldest remaining alliances were laf, omega and rag. Of which rag isnt really around anymore in 'alliance'.

The 2bn limit is a major major gameplay mechanic right now, removing it will kill food peaks. Sure food demand will rise as the set goes on as food demands increase, but you also have to remember the farmers are also getting bigger and producing more food. This will drastically alter the market mechanics, the game cant support it at this stage.

The corruption factor isnt a big enough incentive to stock food. Most ppl will be better off hoarding cash over stocking food.

Putting them all into alliance will expose them to too many aspects of the game all at once including the ones that are most likely to turn them off.

My schools vs schools analogy was just an example of how rl relationships could be reflected in the game. Putting them all in one alliance would remove alot of the dynamicism. Sure there will be times when they gang up against another school, there will be some who fight among themselves....and others who want no part of it and just want to net.

I know what tournament is, i used to play it 10 years ago. Look at it from the big picture, levels or not there isnt much separating it from primary in the eyes of a newcommer.

forgottenublets:p

wrt to alliance teams in team servers
If the fb thing works out then those 'alliance-teams' will be vastly outnumbered and will just be 2 or 3 teams in a sea of hopefully hundreds. Teams allying together will always happen, they just have to be loosened up. I mean imagine a Team a from one school dec's war on their friends from another school...eventually turning it into a school vs school thing?

wrt to alliances loosening up.
thats one of the reasons why i suggested they move to the team server for group play over alliance. Even if there are a few alliance-teams using rules complicated rules like pacts and all...if there are enough new teams it wont make a big difference in the long run.

Coming up with a system where some countries with new IPs can only be attacked x times a day is never going to work. Its easily exploited, overly complicated, non transparent (imagine oping someone, getting the jets to attack, only to find they are a 'new' player and you cant hit them) and insulting/demeaning to new players.

I think there are already too many servers. I mean is there really that much difference between primary (which really should be renamed classic) and tournament? Similar length, turn structures and so on.

Your offer said nothing about a time frame or even a time limit. Nor did it say anything remotely like 'we reserve the right to change this offer' so that little addition of yours is invalid:p

Problems with going onto fb?

1-Going to need alot of new graphics.
2-Problem of revealing country ownership and the problems associated with it. i.e. you can find out who someone is or could be allied to without spy ops and suiciders type grudges between people.

I had a little think about this and i honestly think this has the potential to be huge.

I think we all agree that the thing that makes this/earth 2025 special was the group based game play, at some stage or another most of you have probably said something like 'this game sucks, im only playing because of the people'. This team play is what you should promote and develop to new fb users. In other words dont highlight the primary server with the hope some eventually join the alliance server. Instead you should be heavily promote the TEAM server. IMO this is the best server for 'hooking' them into the game.

1-It provides a sense of individual/group game play.

2-Encourages them to play as a team with people they know. Imagine a team of people in one school warring each other. No one likes to be on the losing end and it will keep interest in the game high among ppl in the school or organisation.

3-Its the best 'server' for fb spammage with news and achievements. Make it so teams/alliances can offically declare war on each other and make it appear in the news (and fb newsfeed).

4-New players wont get stomped on in the team server as much as stepping straight into the alliance server.

The game should have a consolidated ingame help menu that should prominently answer questions like 'What is the difference between the different servers' and 'How to improve my country?' Join an alliance of course!
