I was suggesting more to disallow farming of your own countries in FFA, not necessarily your tag-mates.

lol. From what I gather I think the game could actually be coded so you simply can't hit your own countries (kind of like humanitarians stops you from hitting things beyond a certain nw range). Don't hold me to this since I'm not a game admin but certainly if there is enough player interest in something like that I could draw attention to the suggestion. I don't know what that would do to game play in FFA . Maybe it's a discussion that we should have on this board?

I think there are some valid points up there.
imo curbing suiciders is a bit of tricky issue since many of the actions that could be taken could also alter the way wars are fought on the server. I can say that we have discussed this issue somewhat at length but haven't really reached any conclusion on what to do.

Certainly the deletion suggestion wouldn't but I can think of several ways suggestions 1 and 3 could be abused in war time. However the trade off here might be worth it.

The revenge thing is a good idea, the *only* thing is that if it were to create more ghost acres in the process then potentially it could encourage more self farming.

actually the US has tried to invade canada a couple of times, and was pretty close to doing it a third time (but decided mexico was a better target).

us/canada military cooperation didn't really get going until british/US relations improved towards the end of the 19th century.

I note that canadians fought on both sides of the US civil war. You can actually find confederate graves in nova scotia for example.

There was indirect cooperation during WW1 prior to the US entry.

Same with WW2. The US actually built the alaska highway through canada and it is still used today. In exchange they got access to the busiest airport in ww2 and refueling/supply air base. (I think it still holds the record). Also one of the best shallow water sub bases on the west coast (which they still lease to this day).

During the cold war a large part of NORAD goes through canadian territory. (no deployed nuclear weapons are on canadian soil)

In Korea Canadians supported US forces very heavily.

Vietnam not so much lol.

Iraq I and Afghanistan, very much so.

Also the strategic power grids are integrated.

Also a good deal of quality winter US military gear comes from Canada:P

I think the concern with no limits is a resource issue as well as the issues that rats brings up.

From what I gather, the vast majority of NA was not deleted. There is no belief on the part of the staff that NA as a whole condones cheating, organized or otherwise, or that the bulk of their members cheat. If we really thought that then most of NA's tag would be long gone. This applies to every other tag out there.

canada has a stream of bank failiures in the 1920's and
1 bank (more like credit union) failure in the 1980s (this was due to outright criminal activity).

The big irony is that other than health care, the canadian government (and lower levels) subsidize things far less in general than their American counterparts.

Regarding financial institution regulation, it's more of a business culture/approach thing than the way the laws are written. Most financial institutions in Canada don't see the regulator as the enemy. Also, most rules/changes are done via discussion with whatever segment is affected. Most of the guidelines are "principle" based rather than rules based and some flexibility is allowed based on individual company's situations.

When mistakes are made and are proven to be mistakes, countries get reinstated.

We've already said repeatedly that the evidence will presented by the game admins shortly. You can always contact myself or a game admin if you have any questions/concerns and they will be addressed as promptly as it is appropriate to do so.

No worries. Having lead a tag myself for many moons it's understandable to be upset when things like this happen. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail in all of this.
