Man, I have been to 4 funerals in 4 weeks and it's making me feel really old

first t was my friends brother, he took his own life and was only 25. The saddest funeral I have ever been to

then, a week later, that same friends dad passed after a short battle with metastatic (sp) melonoma (sp). And my friend was moraly destroyed in 2 weeks, will never be the same

last week my close cousin passed of lung and liver cancer at 53

and today I just got back from my great uncle's funeral (he was like a grandfather to me since both mine passed before I was born) he was 91 and had advanced bone cancer

Guess I'm trying to ask if anyone is having as shifty a month as I am. I didn't even have a good birthday Monday because halfway through it I got the news about my uncle

i don't think anyone can probably compare to that.... that just sounds horrible.

bad things do seem to happen in bunches.

you have our deepest condolences and continued support, though.

Man, that sucks. Ever been to a 17 year olds funeral? Now THAT fluff is sad. Whole class of people crying and stuff.

It's not so much as the people passing, that still sucks but it's a part of life. but its more the recent frequency

I almost feel like I'm going through the paces now at funerals, jaded if you will

And I don't see that as a good thing

My grandmother died, of pancreatic cancer, a few years ago, and was buried on my dad's birthday. Most of our family, me included, was in the house and was able to see her pass on.

To make a long story short, a word of advice:

If anyone tells you that watching someone you've loved for a long time die makes you stronger, don't believe them. It crushes you. Especially when, in their last breaths, they start choking on their own fluids.
I am a troll. Everything I say must be assumed to be said solely to provoke an exaggerated reaction to the current topic. I fully intend to bring absolutely no substance to any discussion, ongoing or otherwise. Conversing with me is pointless.

sorry to hear fordy!

And going to a young persons funeral is just sad. My sisters 4 month term baby was buried, and she took it really hard even though he wasnt even born yet.

I had a friend pass away a long time ago, he was beat to death by some (forgive the terms) racist caucasions. His funeral was so hard on many of us, and there was about a 1000 that showed up literally.

again, sorry to hear ford, hope a brighter day comes for ya!

My grandma died a few years back, due to a doctors error. Wish we would've sued the bastard. But, I digress. She ended up having a heart attack, and my family wanted me to go to the hospital to be with her when she passed on, which I decided I didn't want to go to. I know it sounds mean and all, and I did love her, but I personally didn't want to see my grandma, unconscious and all messed up, die. And I know she probably wouldn't want any of her family to see her in that state. She was an extremely proud woman, and while I didn't know her as long as everyone else in my family, I know she'd agree with me that she'd rather no one saw her in that state.

Hmmm, yeah the last month sucks...

- 4 speeding tickets ($500+)
- wife backed into someones car in a parking lot
- marriage almost ended
- my mom diagnosed with a tumor on her heart

No deaths, but nothings going right for me.

Well, i know a guy, who never was a bright star anyway, but he and his wife slept with their baby in bed with them. Ya, you guessed it, during the night he rolled over and smothered his own baby boy. He woke up to find his son dead. Im not kidding and im not joking. It was terriable and i wish i never new about it.

My condolences to you though. My advise is get outside and do something and be glad your still alive and doing well.

Yeah. That would be pretty horrible. On the other hand, it's why I would never sleep in the same place as something that could easily be crushed or suffocated.
