It might be a hate crime. Let's wait and see what the police investigation yields. Stop getting butthurt prematurely.
There's lots of evidence this guy was all types of mentally fluffed up. He not only sympathized with Columbine, but ALSO the 9/11 hijackers.
I mean given that...does anyone dispute that he was batfluff insane? Sympathizing with one or the other is already all kinds of crazy...but both? They're not even related in terms of motivation.
It definitely could be a hate crime, but let's not jump to butthurt conclusions here. This isn't the same as getting shot in the back while running away (Walter Scott) or a kid using a toy gun (Tamir Rice).
And for all the white people who are frothing at the mouth of that last paragraph: This particular case could VERY WELL be a hate crime. I'm just saying let's wait and see for the police/FBI who actually have facts to explain what happened after the investigation is concluded.
As for this:
>only white people are racist
Do you even know, in sociology, what "racism" means? In the USA, it's *very* difficult for people to be RACIST against white people. That's because the people discriminating against White people typically don't have any societal "power". Bigoted, prejudiced, discriminatory? Absolutely. Racist? Well...look up the definition besides a dictionary. Look it up vis-a-vis sociology.
I do know what you mean, and sorry for being pedantic, but just wanted to point out the discrepancy. As I said, this very well could be a HATE crime. I'm just saying...to be "racist" (as opposed to bigoted, prejudiced or discriminatory) is a bit more nebulous.
The usual jokers on here fluffing about "racism" don't actually know the sociological definition of it.
They just see: discrimination on skin color = racism
That's NOT what racism means. In sociological terms, racism = prejudice on skin color + POWER
Once again. ONCE AGAIN. I'm NOT saying this WASN'T a "hate crime". I'm saying we should see and wait for more facts to emerge, and it very well could be considered a hate crime.
