Your dog smells like corn chips due to the fact that most dog food is made up of mostly corn (among whatever gives a particular brand of dog food flavor), and then it's baked. Dogs often have to stick their snouts in the food bowl before they're able to get a bite of food.

Then, they usually lick themselves. A lot. Just before licking you in the face.
