We're happy to announce that after many months of hard work we're ready to unveil the new public look and ingame template for Earth Empires! The new look is a lot "shinier" than the old look and positions us well to attract a new generation earthers.

This is a really big update, changing the look and feel of the public, portal and ingame pages so please let us know if anything is amiss! We've moved up the launch of this new design for a few technical reasons (mainly for our IE users), so it's not entirely as polished as I'd have liked to get it.

Facebook functionality is integrated in this update as well, but we're not going to turn it on until we fix all the display bugs and polish the site to make it worth advertising for :) We'll also be integrated a new bonus system in, which will be linked into Facebook to give bonuses for things such as when players recruit their friends to play or are given a bonus for logging in every 24 hrs. Stay tuned or both of these to be rolled out shortly!

This has been a major update and a major team effort, so thanks to everyone who helped in the design, development and QA phases! And special thanks to Tavi for working up all these awesome graphics -- they're awesome!

I opened the EE site. Then I closed it. I closed my eyes, took some deep breaths, reopened the EE site and came to the conclusion that if I were hallucinating the radical new look, someone must have slipped me some killer fluff when I wasn't looking.

Except for all the ads which I didn't have to see before, thanks to my platinum membership it looks OK :(

Oh well that $20 or whatever was worth it for the last 5 years.

I think it could benefit from a completely stripped, banner, image & add free site with just html text links.... for those who play from mobile devices... a small charge if this was offered would make sense to too. I'd pay.

also, due to inflation, patron status may cost more!!! :p

also people are living longer now.... so "lifetime membership" gives you more value anyways

What ever happened to integration into Facebook?

the integration is done -- I play through facebook all the time

the site/game still isn't all that great for teaching new players the game, and that's something we need to get hammered out before we launch on Facebook

some other games which launch on Facebook without a good learning system recruit lots of players, but not many actually stick around and play beyond their first time.

We're still looking for good content for the public site, the wiki to be filled up with great information for new players and we have a few in-game tweaks to make to deliver tutorial style content and create a really strong first-time user experience.

Again, I am glad to see that everything is being thought through before it is done to ensure that it is done well instead of just getting done.

I guess it is bad I didnt notice many changes...I did notice the portal page get the my profile thing though
