Hi,

Due to all the stupid drama TC is trying to cause me and my lack of time to deal with it, I've repointed Boxcar's URLs to the EE server.

Right now, it's pointing to Evo's site. That's just the box's default settings, it's not a political statement. It will point to EE shortly.

Boxcar will be moved ASAP with backed up data.

Apologies for the crazy issues. I wish they didn't happen in the first place.

No actually, the spy-ops aren't uploading to TC's site. My guess is the upload api from EE still points to boxcarhosting.com and they aren't going anywhere until it is up and running again?

i'd guess the same, but what if the Evolution site can accept the uploads? meh. they probably need an API key to accept the upload.

What is the point of redirecting the URL's away from boxcar before an alternative is up and running? All this seems to do is prevent most of its users from accessing boxcar and its tools unless they are savvy enough to look here for an explanation/find the URL to access boxcar.

Evo's site couldn't accept the uploads because they point to a different url. It now points at the forums.

Also I was sleeping while this happened, so sorry about the evo2025 stuff earlier.

Finally did the signature thing.

OK, Boxcar is back up for forums only. I'll get the news dbs set up tomorrow, but I gotta head to bed. It's currently up on the game server, as I said before, but that's just a stopgap until we figure out a better longer term option and I'm not incredibly busy IRL.

As a longer term update, the "resolution" will likely be open sourcing Boxcar before too awful long.

The entire EE experiment has always been user built and managed. Players like Pang, QZ, and Slagpit built the game because they liked to play the game. EE is just not big enough to support third part hosting guys. Let me ask you this, who WOULD you trust to host it? I can only think of 2-3 tags that have such minimal political involvement that a majority of EE would be comfortable with them hosting. Unless somebody from monsters, ICN, or Omega wants to step it up big time and host - we are going to be hosted by one of the Dev team. The dev team was primarily Laf and Evo, Laf had a shot and fluffed it up, now its Evo's turn.

Wrong. Dev team was primarily EVO, and Pang.

Pang was in LaF just as long as he was in PDM.

LaF never fluffed anything up.

Is this where I find out if our site's file manager, Log manager, Alliance Manager, will ever work again?

The common message is 'The requested URL /portal/viewFile.php was not found on this server.'

Will these things ever work again?

they will work if you change capped letter to non-capped.

I totally agree with you that that is pain in ass especially Alliance Manager, it takes a while to change all alliances tags after new set has started.
