So do you think the servers could handle a 1 hour reset where turns are given every 2 seconds. I was just thinking how it would be to play one entire reset (1 hour where you get turns every 2 seconds is 1800 turns, roughly like express) in a fast paced 1 hour session.

You have to play fast or you lose turns. The amount of turns that you could store have to be small to avoid hassle, 10 minutes worth would be 300 turns. You basically have to search news, grab, build, spy nonstop lol. It would definitely be a new type of Earth experience.

i think that'd kill the current server :P

How about this. Everybody puts in 5 dollars, the top 10 divides this cash up, and some % goes to the game/admins. I don't know if it's okay to take cash buyins and have prizes but it could be fun.

explore then build and repeat and after few mins get oil and start farming.

doubt earth2025's limited brought much funds after a while and after those short time plats were introduced then even less.
