I propose that socialism should be added to the gov types. Due to the lack of bureaucratic non sense they could have a 10% increase in Tech production. Since this type of gov is more publically controled fiscally, there will be a -10% max per capita income. A -10% max population is in effect due to the low demand for jobs to be filled with the lack of bereaucracy. +10% contruction speed will be enforced due to the efficency of public ownership. Finally to keep things balanced their will be an 8% market commission
Country will be denoted with "S"
+10% tech production
+20% construction speed

-10% max per capita income
-10% max population
8% market commission

Any thoughts??

and more population from free healthcare...

i'd balance it more like this:

+10% tech production
+20% max population

-25% max per capita income
-15% construction speed


Though I had other ideas for new govts if we wanted to add more...

i am open for suggestions. thought i would try an justify my percentages with some bs. I like your suggestion qzjul. mainly i would like to see a country with extra tech production. what are some of the other ideas you had?

Industrialist is basically only viable as communism, oiler is basically only viable as fascist. If anything, we should be addressing these pigeonholes, rather than trying to create new ones.

A 10% tech production bonus would not be overpowered for a techer, but combining it with 20% construction speed bonus will. Theocracy is so common for techer mainly due to its build speed bonus, the cheaper military is almost irrelevant for theocracy techers, and the theo techer strategy was still very popular before the population bonus was added in.

The population bonus & pci penalty combination qzjul suggested seems really weird to put in. No one is going to use it for casher, so why bother giving both of those? Just give em a 10% PCI hit and scrap the population bonus, it'd be about the same.

The question is when you give a government a +10% tech production bonus, do you want it to be a government that only makes sense for techers, or do you want to make other strategies possible as well?

I was just going from the bonuses he was using, and making it so they mostly cancelled each other out monetarily, but not food-wise...

good point about making other strategies viable. Since their are gov's that are so specialized in indy, oil, and farm, i would only make sense to then add a 10% tech production to a gov or create one that will benefit from tech. Everything that is sold on the market except for tech, has an increase in production. Demo or republic should have a tech bonus.

I would also like to see a gov that could benefit from a rainbow or more balanced country. When i first played Earth2025 rainbows weren't that uncommon or useless.

This is approximately something I'd suggested during our very first round of changes... but we never really had time to sit down and think about it, so it got lost on the scrap pile like many of my more radical ideas ;)

i thought nazi was national socialist, but i became a dictatorship. i am not the brightest guy when it comes to government, or most things as a matter a fact. i just say some stuff on the wiki part of socialism and tried to justify my points for the potential for a socialism gov in this game.

I agree that new gov will spice this game up. my proposal was just to get the ball rolling on adding a new government.
