I lost troops, tanks, turrets. My def ally has plenty of military of all types - should they not have contributed to my defences and lost some also, even though the attack attempt was not successful?

i had one of these a day or two ago, didnt ask d allies whether they lost anything but i wasnt super worried to check since the grabber sent quite a lot
