how about making it compulsary for 1st time players this would give them some protection from been farmed and driven from the game.

opt out would be fine

particularly if there was no 72 hour waiting on an opt out gdi

could set the out time as 24 hrs (free the 1st time) but to stop noobs jumping in and out of GDI put a high cost level ie will cost the following

2nd time 1m $
3rd time 2m $
4th time 3m $

and so on

(these are just a few examples for info on how it could look)

Or gdi could stay the same and ee could send ingame messages to those countries that seemed to get lg'd a lot telling them more about gdi and why they should join it.

Current 72 hours on normal servers is perfect.

all you need to do is have accounts that have just started be placed into gdi on country creation the first country they start during a partially underway set, or a new set if they didnt have a country previously on that server

then just that first gdi could be ended at any time

others would still have the regular limits

ideally it wouldnt actually be gdi it would be a new newbie friendly mode that does something like reduce gains and losses, perhaps provide dummy defence allies with half or equal your defence and so on

if losses were reduced it could reduce gains on those hits as well or have some form of cutoff so it couldnt be used for land creation

might be nice to have newbie mode reduce damage from cash and food loss to half or less as well

one cutoff could be if a country is in the top x% of land/networth after a certain point in the reset it would lose protection

or when tech went above a certain amount of points per acre

the big improvement though could be GDI or newbie GDI reducing losses by a percentage, or reducing it by a percentage only for those who need to (or do) declare war to farm

perhaps reducing military losses on SS/PS as well as land losses

Yea we discussed the GDI losses reduction thing once; it was a promising idea but haven't really looked at it in a while.
Finally did the signature thing.
