I remember reading that removing the 2bn limit was an eventual goal. Problem was it would really hurt the food market as it existed.

Why not remove food decay from the game all together and introducing decay of say 0.01 or even 0.1 on cash onhand? At some stage you will be better off buying food to preserve "value" rather than simply stocking cash non stop.

This imo will alleviate part of the massive kick in the gut to farmers such a move would create.

Negative... observe FFA.

That's what the corruption mechanic is for.
Finally did the signature thing.

it hurts the food market more in servers with less turns where stock is lower

express and tournament being the obvious example since not a lot of people get more than 2b stock there, and even if you do you do you need to go quite a bit over to justify buying food

i would find it interisting in alliance, the biggest change would be easier destocking and mbr which i would be in favour of

right now food and cash decay at the same rate over 2b in ffa/express

so the important factors balancing whats best become commisions and expected price shifts

one benefit is it could somewhat lower the food spike cycle being a useful nerf to ttr

Express already has no 2B limit; so does FFA;

yes, express is volatile because so few people play, but it doesn't matter too much because hardly anyone needs to stock a lot of food
ffa is stable because a lot of people seem to want to keep food low

alliance is the one where currently food goes up and down a lot, due to all the techers needing to jump as fast as possible as soon as they think food is dropping

if instead someone could put all food on market at one time in alliance it would be interesting, even if the corruption means they cant continue to run turns i think it would hurt early jumping a lot

equalising somewhat the strats

oh except for farmer which might get hurt if food dropped lower, but thats compared to casher, it would still benefit compared to techer

id be interisted in either agri tech increasing a little or base food price, id prefer base food price due to smoothing food market

but if thats done there should perhaps be a corresponding change to benefit cash startups, perhaps increasing pop/pci growth rate or starting pci

The 20A bonus should help cash starts somewhat.

well ideally for a cash start you want to store all turns then play so depending on when you get the first one you could perhaps start playing with 160 acres

when talking about cash starts i meant if you increased food base price to 34 36 38 40 or so from 32, it used to be 40 at one point
