Have the game developers just considered changing stuff once in a while just to introduce change?

Introduce a 1b cash limit next reset. Remove it the reset after that, and then change DR to 48 hours the next set. Remove that, then change tanks to be worth 3 jets worth in unit power instead of 2 the reset after that.

Things like that would help to keep the game interesting because every reset feels different, and this allows players to constantly adapt to changes in the game mechanics and show who are the top players.

Servers with short reset times can have the same ruleset for multiple resets so it changes every 2 months in sync with long reset servers.

Thoughts?

i was thinking this the other day- why not make countries start with more money, land, auto tech on the market..

start ups have been the same since i started when i was thirteen (minus the food being 3 dollars, of course, and all nws being halved but those were when i was sixteen or so, so.. the point stands :P)

not sure about late game changes, people with math skills can focus on that, but a quick change would be what you start with at turn zero, that would change start ups for every strategy and hopefully make start ups less boring (done it a million times, almost literally!)

Some of these things aren't trivial to change, and the ones that are... we try to think about balance; this would effectively throw out all balancing, and just be like pfft whatever; like if we randomly decided to make bushels $999 sell price on the public, it'd be silly....

raising or dropping private food floor based of percentage of server that was farmer last set (or during the set), calced in countries or acres would be one way to move food

jets troops tanks turrets could function like rock paper scissors if you wanted but i dont see a need

having lower corruption limits in express and tourney could force more market interaction, last time i played express it was usually better to stock cash to about 4b then jump than buy food

id rather see DR be 26 hours rather than 24 to force targets to shift around the timezones, if soft DR is too hard to code

just commenting on changes listed in thread

but in general theres a lot of things id like to see changed :)

we have a few things in the works, but (my) main focus is changing the back-end for forum/game merger to make a whole lot of things a whole lot easier
