I think it would be great if you could cancel the free GDI bonus and be able to get out of GDI. Kind of a pain to be stuck in it.

One thought that comes to my mind is in Primary the GDI provides a lot of protection (no special attacks). So someone could use GDI until they get pissed, drop out, and get to have the FS because they were using GDI as a temporary shield.

True. Maybe have a difference between primary and alliance. Warring in alliance unexpectedly with the free GDI is very annoying.

But in primary if you have gdi and hit someone once with gdi, they still can't do special attacks against you if they drop out of GDI? (Sorry, I don't play primary so have no idea how it work exactly).
