Just take the exact code as is from bore and host it. Or create something similar if that's not the best option. But I'm not sure why such a useful and almost essential tool should be hosted off-site. See up top where it says Portal, Forums, Wiki, Chat, there could be a link up there to an eestats/earthgraphs type site too, and that would also help new players find out about it. I've sent links to eestats to some guys in game and got a response like "whoa, I wish I knew this site existed!"

Yes, this would be awesome. I even think a basic battle calculator should be provided for land grabs (SS and PS). There is still plenty of room where the user can screw up even with a calculator giving them the answer. It is only as good as the input given and there is a lot of input to get sometimes.

I know some people cringe when you dumb down a game, but I believe this will help retain new players who are trying out the game. Land grabs are pretty much needed to get a top spot at the end. So is the market/player history (or something like it) of eestats. The tech calculator comes in hand too (even with current spy changes), just to see what numbers you need to reach a certain percent of tech in that category.

Utopia has one now. you punch in what units you're sending and it'll calculate how much offense youre sending after bonuses. i dont really like it. it's ok for utopia but i think it would be bad for this game. really makes attacking more automatic and takes out some of the numbers this game is about

some old players can calculate estimated break based target's nw and some do just regular op and then calc break and some do regular, ally and allies op and military op and then calc break (in head or in spreadsheet).

I thought that was a program called Utopia Angel where all you had to do was to copy and paste your main menu page and copy your target's crystal ball page, ta dah! Angel pops out with all values set and ready to hit.

Yeah I wasn't advocating going that far with giving the numbers needed to make a successful attack, lol. But something where they can input the values themselves seemed reasonable. The object of the game is to gain networth and land is a part of that up to a certain extent.

The bigger players who have stuck around figured out the calculations, but it isn't really posted anywhere in the game where a new player could easily understand it. The bits of information needed to build your own calculator are scattered through the in-game help pages or in-game hints. How allies factor in isn't explained very well either. Others simply lack the skills to make a calculator of their own (some people don't understand Excel).

It is very discouraging getting attacked daily for your land and not knowing how the game mechanics works to be able to make your own attacks properly. So you often fail, give up, or don't try.

That's an external program, someone could make something like that for Earth too. Or a spreadsheet, and many people have.

But no, now in game, you punch in how many guys you're sending, and it calculates it and says like "105,361 offensive points" underneath. It would be like me getting ready to send 1,000,000 jets on a PS with 25% weapons science, it would display 3,750,000 offensive points on the attack page before I sent. I don't think it's a good direction for Earth, but I do know FOR A FACT that something like eestats should be hosted on this site. :D

People who are interested in the game will make an effort to find out information from friends/allies/forums the exact way things work, for e.g allies help. You dont need a 3rd party program or Excel spreadsheet. You'll just need a simple Windows Calc. Its not that complicated.

Yeah all I use is windows calculator. Plus the instructions say what def allies do, what PS bonus is, how much units are worth... the effect of weapons science is self-apparent. It's all there.

Actually, a calculator that told you what the real strength after tech/bonuses were applied might be helpful (what you're sending)- NOT a calculator doing any kind of calculations to make the break.

I still don't expect to see this kind of feature added though.

I like the eestats design. It's in Earth colors and is just generally pretty spiffy, attractive, user-friendly. I meant use eestats IF bore wanted you to, not copying it against his wishes or anything.
