I realize this would essentially make a new game, but using the Google maps API, you could make an environment that allowed people to pick a physical area to start on a map and expand their country.

I suppose it would be similar to RISK in that you're battling it out on a map of the world to gain land... aside from that there's really no similarities.

That could be neat. So would there be a set amount of land that everyone must use? As it stands exploring generates more land, as well as ghost acres. With land being real there would be a finite amount of land? Just curious how you would like to see that happen?

This would also open up to question, we would need/want an interactive map of the world for the game.

trainboy: I'm sure there would need to be quite an overhaul as to how land is distributed, it was a pipe-dream suggestion, which I did mention would essentially make it a new game.. I'm just trolling for more depth :P
