I appreciate your time and I know you don't get compensation, but we need to get real, things are getting out of hand, in team server a bunch of people got deleted, they may very well have broken the rules, but common, it's been days with no rulings on appeals.

Now on express two people get into a scuffle, a nOObtard thinks it's landtrading, proceeded to report it, then a mod deleted both countries, http://www.eestats.com/express/country/66 THAT is hilarious!

There seems to be a disconnect between the mods. Something needs to change. Either justify the deletions immediately to those deleted, or stop making deletions.

Deletions without justification will kill the game far faster than any toxic community actions.

Allowing one butthurt county to have 2 other legitimate countries deleted is flat out wrong. If this does not get remedied, then why bother playing at all.

Let me piggyback on this. I came back recently, and this lind of stuff doesn't make me feel like staying.

If your country stays deleted, that is the confirmation and justification that you broke the rules. Case closed, why is this so difficult to comprehend? You dim wits need to stop hanging around ford, it will help your IQ. Also Celphi should not have been deleted.

Forget the solo server concept where you can't be friends with anyone. Solo servers should just be servers where clans don't officially exist, just like in the old days. Ppl stay for the camaraderie, not the math game.

I recently came back (this is my 3rd week playing express after a 3+year break) It's been a lot of fun, I have browsed the boards more than posted, and the feeling I got was that there have been changes made to help keep people more active, keep them on this site and not external sites, and keep them logging in and playing more often. The irony is that I feel like being active was exactly the reason I got deleted for.

Well that, and the baseless accusations of another playwe with whom I had zero contact, and the lack of any semblance of an investigation by whomever saw the 'cheater report'.

To solve a problem you need to first find out the possibility of a common denominator.... I'll leave it at that....

The Team deletions were open to arguement. The Express deletions were just plain wrong. It was ebert who complained about the Express case and he has once posted to maintain his complaint. But not a single other voice has been raised to support these deletions. While a chorus of people decry them.

It really wood be nice if those countries were restored. The players were warring and could happily go back to their war for what remains of the set. Plus the unmerited slur on their reputations would be removed.

Maybe people would also be a little slower to throw out allegations against their fellow players or to pester the mods (something I have been guilty of myself).

The admins in this game are clueless. They do not know how to properly administrate this game. They try hard, but they constantly shoot themselves in their respective feet.

Greater transparency would solve so many of their problems, but they just don't give a fluff about improving what they do.

Also, before someone posts it, I don't give a flying fluff that they are unpaid voluntary positions. They are entrusted with a level of responsibility and trust the rest of us have no means of attaining. Their actions have repeatedly proven they neither deserve our trust nor our support.

Check my response in the other thread and calm down please. Nobody ever deletes someone simply because another player said so. Yes, sending a message directly to a mod is more likely to get a mod's attention, but I guarantee you that every mod will investigate and make a judgement call.

If you don't like that call, you can appeal the decision. That is why we have multiple mods, because we don't always agree on cases...

Anyway, both countries were restored, case closed.

I volunteer for Express and/or Team.

There have been documented instances where one mod has deleted a country shortly after other mods stated that they saw no wrong-doing. All I need to do to get someone deleted is just get one mod to agree with me. If mommy doesn't give me the answer I want, then I can go ask daddy.

Situations like this are compounded by policies on certain servers that even the Moderators as a team could not agree upon. Those details did not stop mods from enforcing it, of course, though it did prompt some to suspend their roles...



Additionally, I would love to put my money where my big mouth is, but I believe I have neither the requisite time nor the requisite skills to perform the duties of a moderator. This is based purely on my assumptions though, as I have yet to see a discussion of the roles and responsibilities for the positions being filled.

Part of the issue of one mod deleting where another chose not to is that it's really hard to see if someone has already looked at a situation and decided to pass on it. In many cases, I've looked at a complaint, and decided it didn't warrant a deletion, only to find another mod has deleted them the next day.

That being said, again, no mod deletes someone because someone told them to. Getting a message about something often prompts us to check into things, but every mod makes their own decision. And yes, we often disagree, at which point the player is free to appeal the decision, at which point we discuss the issue and reach consensus on what action to take. That's why the appeals process exists..

Why do mods not internally document their investigation? Wouldn't their findings be useful when dealing with repeat offenders investigated by multiple moderators?

Tangentially related, how do moderators make sure everyone is enforcing the rules consistently?
