obviously people should be allowed to stop playing if they want so there is nothing wrong with self deleting
but when a country is killed it still exists for the purposes of doing spy ops on it, including taking cash/oil/tech
changing that to include land might lead to problems and should be cautiously implemented if at all since there had to be someone to kill a country, and if they can kill a country then take its land without potential for retaliation that could be a problem
i think the current rule is you can only self delete if you havnt done attacks for 24 hours, similar to gdi, not sure if express has a shorter timeframe, but if changes were made there would be no reason to force people to wait to self delete, i think its unlikely people self delete as much since restart changes as if they want to stop playing they probably just stop and most want to use restart bonuses to continue suiciding
but due to the nature of DR its easily possible to take way more land than is possible to be taken back before you can self delete
to prevent one option of abuse attacked countries could be allowed x actions against a self deleted countries based on how many times they were attacked, 1:1, escalating, x time period, based on actual damage, whatever made the most sense
land dropping is more valid as a strategy particular when ab/br/chem/bombbuildings is the cause, or in some cases during war to grab buildings when you have 0 csites, combined with denial of resources to an opponent
it would be possible to implement a system where previous land is tracked and a country could be grabbed lose 300 actual acres on 10k, and instead of attacker gets the 300 plus 100 ghost nw plus 150 buildings for 550, if the country dropped from 20k it could instead be treated as still being 20k for the grab resulting in 1100
950 if the dropped land was assumed to be unbuilt
this 3rd form of ghost acres could be limited to countries or tags hit by the land dropper or apply to everyone, could last forever or for a limited amount of time or hits
if attacks were being made on deleted or dead countries DR could either apply or not, and losses could either be real or not real or tracked per country/tag if it was designed to give what was taken back
