The overall theme is to remove restrictions and to give players additional options.


1) Remove SS military loss scaling penalty. Base attacking losses are 16% for attacking countries and 8% for allied help.

2) Reduce base stolen money, bushels, and tech from grabs.

3) Military bases increase PM regen rate based linearly on percent land as MBs up to 2X. For example, 50% MBs gives 1.5X generation.

4) Increase cost of infinite bpt bonus from 8 points to 16 points.

5) Trade pacts return and grant 1 extra daily bonus turn for every 1000 turns played by a trade ally. For example, if one trade ally has played 1999 turns and one trade ally has played 2134 turns then the country allying them both will receive 7+1+2=10 daily bonus turns.

6) Medical tech now also reduces food consumption by population and military units.

7) Warfare tech returns with a starting percentage of 0%. Each missile is worth 500k NW instead of 2500 NW.

8) Weapons tech now increases units sent for the purposes of type 1 ghost acre calculations. Government modifiers continue to not be included.

9) Spy tech now increases money, bushels, and tech gained from grabs.

10) SDI tech returns with the additional effect of increasing maximum daily PSes:
* 0-9.9%: 0 additional PS
* 10-29.9%: 1 additional PS
* 30-49.9%: 2 additional PS
* 50-69.9%: 3 additional PS
* 70-89.9%: 4 additional PS
* 90-98.9%: 5 additional PS

The person that suggested #3 is a genius. Probably going to win this set with a rainbow.

I'd suggest changing spy and SDI to like "Raiding" and "Planning" or something along those lines.

Changes should make next set interesting!

Overall good changes. Consider that change 10 is somewhat less effectful because of change 1. Maybe thats only something to keep in mind for later because no one knows what will happen yet.

Thinking more about these changes - which on the whole are fun, I'm a bit sad about #1 - I didn't think SS losses were a problem even when they didn't reduce with built land. (I'm still banging the drum for bringing it to express!)

I strongly agree with Gerdler's point that it makes #10 much less impactful.

Overall I feel like we are just going to see rampant farming, but maybe grabbing was too easy... gonna be an interesting set for sure!

Would be pretty cool if SS were very punishing in one phase, but the game allowed more than one way to compensate for it. SDI tech for extending the PS phase, or lower CS with higher focus on early production, or any combination thereof.

Plus it may be somewhat interesting to consider what it does to the competitiveness of the demo govt.

On #4, would it be possible to make the cost more like 21-24 so that it's virtually impossible to take it by mistake.

If you think it's underpowered then maybe buff it slightly? Like costing 80% of permanent bonuses or something?

What happens if I have 16 points and put 2 on build cost bonuses but accidentally tick the inf build?
Given that it's a set destroyer I would recommend it to be very difficult to do accidentally. I may have given you some possible ideas for achieving this, but you may have better ones. I do think it's worth considering for QoL reasons, especially for people who play on mobile.

It's theoretical so far. when playing actively you get 16+ points like 7-10 times over the course of the round iirc. If you keep it 24 that is never going to happen unless you have a reason to store bonus turns.

I'm sure it will happen to someone at 16 with all those chances. Unless you make like a popup warning or an extra page to prevent it. too many chances, too small phones, too big thumbs. I've like sold all my tanks on private market when I was trying to sell my bushels and stuff like that. I'm not sure it mattered that time, but this would matter to most people since its such a huge detriment to lose all bonuses for most strats.
