grabs for 7000 loses 10000 in retals some people will never learn. i would be embarassed lol

I just needed temporary land. My strategy was to hit a few big players, could build 100 buildings per turn, use my saved turns to research at max, and then dont care what happened to the land I lost after retals after. It worked, and was an effective strategy.

I 'm not the only one who noticed if you attack and a live player first in the top ten. You get a lot of their Land, and when they retail they get less back. So I make good use of the land before the retail comes.

It's pretty inefficient. Not a great strat long term. turns are your most valuable resource. and you are throwing them away.

Towards the end not really. Gives you a good quick boost in land, spend all the turns you want researching, then when turns are used the land has little use. No need to have a large private market on Express.

It's risky to get retalled and hit on the next few sets, so not a strat I will be following.

Out of the two of you, one has won this server ten times.

It's a terrible use of turns to borrow land. You're investing resources in it twice instead of once (defensive losses on the retal) and you'll also lose back tech, money, food, etc. If you're doing it "at the end" because you'll come out way ahead on the exchange, it means you were never big enough to begin with.

Keep in mind Vic, that a lot of those top countries have almost no defence ;-) So often an easier grab then bots. Again, I am not a fan. It has triggered me to also invest in some defence, but apparently not enough yet

I've KRed the countries that have topfed me in the past, sometimes having to kill 2-3 in a single set in express, but there seems to be a never ending line of folks who are ready to play that game. lol And also, the same people never learn no matter how many times they get killed.

I chose poorly in starting a country this past set, I had stuff pop up. I'm in favor of smacking them down. There is no such thing as enough defense.
