I just got suicided on and am wondering if I can take anything good away from it. Anybody know how long a DR lasts in express? is it the same 24 hours as the other servers?

My experience has been 24 hours.

I've heard claims of other numbers, but from my personal experience it seemed the same as other servers.

i think its not 24 hrs. usually i guess it varies but most dr will last less than 12 hours in express.

what variable matters? the quantity of attacks or the type?

I don't know about the time, elmerjr may be correct. But I've never seen any evidence to suggest that the amount of attacks on a country determines how long it's in DR.

The amount of attacks determines how poor your returns get, but duration (in my opinion).

If a mod happens to stumble upon this, i'd love to hear the correct answers. I'll try to find out and i'll post the information.

eestats might be using 24 hours for calculating DRs.
i'm not sure what the time frame is on Express, but other servers went by the last 24 hours. an attack would get dropped off after 24 hours.

but i think it also drops an attack off for each attack you perform.

I have confirmation from qz-jul that this server is no different from the others.

It's 24 hours. A hit is dropped after 24 hours, or if you make an attack out of it.

I wonder if that shouldn't be adjusted a bit, given that 24 hours in express is the equivalent of a couple of weeks on other servers.

Agreed, does seem too long of a timeframe for express.

decreasing DR length would bring chaos

I for one, welcome chaos. The more encouragement to LG, the better. Earth was never meant to be a bunch of all explorers playing in a vacuum.

the purpose of the DR is to allow the player a chance to log back in and rebuild the defense before getting farmed again. Many players only play once or twice a day.

i guess its not 24 hours. i regularly monitor my stats and other player's stats on eestats.com and ive observed some drs will be gone juts less than 12 hrs. i dont know the basis of how long the dr will last but im sure its less than 24 hrs.

but if u have 150 attacks that wud still take hours or days to make it back to 0. its a matter of keep logging in in this server. this is the main reason y this server is made anyways. in other servers u can log in once a day but in this server it shud be in a couple of hours. :)

The DR lasts 24 hours exactly. As most people know after 5 hits against you, losses are substantially reduced. What most people don't know is that every attack you make removes one of your DR's. As an example I was hit 120 times by one player in a 30 minute span. I was then hit 5+ times over the next day by people who didn't know I was in DR. I expected this to increase my DR to another day, but because I had attacked 5+ times the DR ended and I was farmed immediately (within minutes).

Suicides on this set are ridiculous. Every time I was the top non-gdi country i got hit. Especially the last day with bombed banks, airbases, buildings. GDI is not an option anymore, it should be required for all netters

It most certainly is 24 hours, you're not reading the news properly or don't fully grasp how attacks bring someone out of DR.
