Well, it's clear you're trying to argue a losing point rather than trying to understand why the rules are set up the way they are.
If you top all sorts of posts from over a year ago, you knock current, relevant threads down and off the front page, making them less likely to be seen, while the now pointless old threads sit at the top.
The point of the forums is to facilitate discussion and diplomacy among the players of the game. Knocking relevant posts down and off the front page hinders this. Many of us have had epic spamming sessions, but 1) If I ever get banned/deleted for doing so, I'll just accept it, and 2) None of us, to my knowledge, have made a habit of knocking relevant posts off the boards completely.
I'm not gonna stay here arguing with you, but I'm guessing that's why a mod decided to give you the ax.
