I bought quite a few bare lowers just in case some lawmaker decides to be stupid and ban them. It is the only ATF registered part and the only thing they will ban. You can buy them from my local gun store for $60 each. Stocking up wasn't even a question.

You should look into getting 80% lowers with their jigs also. All kinds of offerings there.

I don't know much about your California restrictions, but I have my FFL which gives me a bit more freedom than just a private seller.

It also might end up like the auto ban where none made after May 1986 can be sold or transfered because of a 1986 law. That's why some older ones are transferable still, with tax stamps and records.

Ffl is different than joe schmoe. Stock up. Stock up on high cap mags also. Those are the first to go usually.

The ban here allows people to keep their previously bought weapons so long as they register them as an assault weapon in a certain time frame . You cant transfer them at all. You die with them then they are destroyed. Which is satans variant of the full automatic ban

It isn't really manufacturing. I could make and sell them.without my FFL as far as I know. My buddy builds his own just like me but doesn't sell them. Now if I bought a CnC machine and started milling my own lower frames, that would probably be trouble.

Just about every gun store around here will sell you blank lowers for less than $100. And if not they are online for $70 all day long. You just have to get it shipped to a FFL. And there are plenty of online gun stores that will sell you lower build kits. Or you can source the groups from different places. It is like legos man. and it really isn't that hard to learn.

Stick with one shot abs 3d printed ones. Just keep recycling them

You should look up the federal law. You can manufacture your own lower from scratch in whatever manner you wish with your own tools. You cannot sell it or give it away. Thats a huge nono unless the lower you build to sell is only 80% complete with certain unfinished features. I have built a few15/10 "ghost guns" from 80%lowers. Its a blast.

That doesn't make much sense since you can sell a completed gun you assembled, you just need paperwork and a transfer. As far as i know the only part the feds care about is the receiver itself. It is the only part with a number on it you have to register.
