"Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are trafficked into the U.S. each year, according to a 2005 report from the U.S. State Department."
ugh, why does this have a blog devoted to it? we must have 0% failure in regards to slavery. Get rid of marriage and credit then.
where the heck is my calculator? 17,500 / 304,000,000 = 5.7565789473684210526315789473684e-5, what the fark is that number? how much above 0% is that number? where the heck is my excel spread sheet program? why my computer go to sleep?
maybe if i multiply it by 100 so i can get the percentage... 0.00576% of the US population is being imported as slaves every year.
"Kevin Bales, a sociologist who serves as a consultant to the United Nations and has authored several books about modern-day slavery, estimated the number was 27 million people in his book “Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy.” The book was published in 1999."
27,000,000 / 6,000,000,000 = 0.0045 * 100 = 0.45% of the world is enslaved. maybe my math just needs work.
