My name is Ashley, and I really like text-based strategy games such as these. It's so nice that a game like this still exists. I hope to do well here, and any tips or anything for me would be appreciated. Thank you. ^^

this board is pretty dead. i would suggest you post on server specific boards, and the best way to really learn is to play the alliance server, in a clan, and have someone coach you on your country through a full set. you will have the hang of things in no time.

Sup! Check the wiki on the basics and not so basic. Play primary to start and learn from your mistakes. That's what I did and it worked for me

I think in the 8 days we had left I did pretty good for myself. So far, I am at 600k Networth. It isn't too bad. ^-^

The easiest servers to learn on are probably Free For All or Alliance because you can join an alliance and get mentoring on the best strategies to play.

Free For All allows you to play multiple countries (up to 16) so you can try out multiple strategies or even just have 16 shots at the same one).

Alliance you can only play one, but they have larger alliances (people-wise, not country-wise) and more people who could help you.

The other servers are fine, but Team is limited to five per team, so people may not be as excited about picking up a new person if they have veteran players interested, and the solo servers obviously don't offer as much camaraderie and mentoring.

Having said all that, here's probably the most important tip: Specialize. That's the one mistake new players make (not specializing, that is). Don't try to tech, build your own military, grow your own food, and get your own oil. I'd suggest farmer because it's relatively easy. Just build almost nothing but farms, sell your food on the market and buy everything else.
