Hey guys

I need advise from network experts

I plan to buy a NAS for BT, Streaming and file hosting.

I'm currently looking into 2 of this

Iomega ix2

Buffalo Linkstation pro duo

Which would you recommend?
What are the pro/cons of the NAS?

Hm

They're only 2 drive? Hardly worth doing a NAS for two drives, no? In my media server i have 6 x 2.5TB (partitions of 3TB) drives in RAID6;

I'd get a DROBO, if I wasn't going to just build my own running linux... (which is what I'd recommend if you think you can handle linux + some command line)

Finally did the signature thing.

Yeah, they only support RAID 0/1, what's the point? What would make this an easier and cheaper solution than just adding an external drive and sharing it with the other users on your network?

Is there some special reason that you need to have a dedicated Network Storage Device rather than just a shared resource attached to one of your computers, or perhaps a router that includes USB ports for external devices such as drives and printers?
