I think it's ridiculous to be pushing contact tracing. The only way to do it is to know where everybody is at all times. It's my opinion that my movements are already far too well known as it is. Furthermore, corona is far too widespread for it 5i be effective at this point. The cat is and has been out of the bag for a long time now.

I think there are two types of people pushing this. People who are stupid but we'll intentioned, and people who want power over others. I think the vast majority are just stupid, as with people in general.

Possibly, but you do need to trace the steps of an infencted person and at least try to stop the spread from getting bigger, I can point you to the direction of Washington State that failed to do so when the first case popped up in that state, 3 weeks later Washington State exploded with COVID 19 cases, it was the worst state outside of New York/New Jersey, that happened because Washington State failed to contact trace and contain, if you have a better way to stop the spread without shutting down an entire country, please share with us :-)

You have to understand that russian propaganda bots are all about creating doubt in the government, politics and democratic systems in themselves. What Cerberus, Alex Jones and others are doing is buying into and spreading that propaganda.

The goal is to create distrust, which is very easy. It's much harder to build trust than to remove it with lies or even truths taken out of context.

During the covid-19 crisis you have seen a lot of mistakes and straight up fraudulent behavior of many actors, including but not limited to China and the United States. But the things they are accusing each others about are mostly speculations, half truths and straight up lies, while the actually reprehensible facts are drowning in all that. Its much easier to make up 10 lies about China than it is to prove and press upon the actual wrongdoing that we know about.

For one thing one of the things that have come to light has been that while China was telling the WHO and the world that human to human transfer was unlikely, while they actually knew they had a rapid community transmission, they were buying up all the PPE from the rest of the world, thereby securing themselves the much needed PPE but creating shortages elsewhere that were worsened for months after because of this.
Donald Trump has done similar things, and calls it 'America First', in acts of pretty much international piracy where shipments bought, payed for, loaded on planes/trucks and counted on in other countries have been redirected to the US creating shortages in Canada and Germany to name a few.
Instead of talking about how to solve these issues they are now hard at work spreading lies about one another.

I don't believe that the question revolved around my data, I thought it was open for rationalizing the contact tracing system being put into place by the leftist in the US.

Contact tracing is not leftist... I don't know where you get that from. It's just useful for some diseases.

Contact tracing is being done with many infectious diseases and its helped control the spread of HIV and other very dangerous viruses.

There are lots of opinions about if and how to use big data and mandatory or voluntary phone apps to help contact tracers. Again I dont think thats a left-right divide, its more authoritarian vs liberal divide. In most places it is the left that actually oppose using mobile phones to log contacts and stuff like that. They call it breach of integrity or something.

The thing you should know is that most of what they want to do to help contact tracing and ultimatly save lives has been done for 10+ years to line Facebook's, Google's and Amazon's shareholders pockets. So it would mostly not be new infringements of privacy it would be old ones comming to an actually good use which perhaps allows us to open up the economy faster because of it. Those who want countries to stay in lockdown longer should oppose mobile tracking in contact tracing.

Contact tracing does actually help to contain the spread of a virus in its early stages, and it works. It's why certain SE Asian nations had such a good run with the virus intially, until people started breaching quarantine etc rules. Once it gets out into the general population, contact tracing is significantly less effective, but it CAN still help with reduction.
