Trump said this morning that “Iran has made a very big mistake”. I think shooting down an expensive US asset in international space right after the attacks they made on Japans oil tanker will have consequences.

Now I think If he doesn’t engage in any direct military action against them it’s only because it’s too close to elections.

If he does strike however it will probably be a massive coordinated aerial attack with F18 and F35 bombing runs and tomahawk missiles from its destroyers. Possible targets will be on Iran nuclear sites and air defenses.

When I was in iraq back in 2006 I had a war nightmare that I was with a different unit fighting the iranian army. My convoy was ambushed and destroyed, I was the last one alive, I deopped to the prone and fired on them with a machine gun and one iranian soldier aimed an rpg at me and I woke up. Ever since than I kind of thought that there will eventually be a war with Iran.

It wouldn't be worth the cost of the strike, they shot down a drone, not a manned aircraft. Save the strike for something more serious.

I think they will probably demo Iran first to drop readiness.

USA isn't popular on that area so invading Iran wouldn't help on popularity but since it's Trump anything is possible since he was close to it already once.
