Twain, I act like an ass because I am an ass. Who is the economic power house of the world? Who is the military power house of the world? Who has most political influence around the world? It becomes quite clear that America is the greatest country on this earth. Of course speaking as of right this moment. All countries fall from power.
Foog, yes this is part of my academic study but I have a BA and a BS along with knowledge in lots of other academic areas. Except of course English, hence why my writing is full of grammatical errors. I cited what I needed to cite, you said there was no way to measure a countries greatness and I corrected you by citing the entire field of economics.
I agree with you here, but no other field of study better measures a countries greatness and you know this. Unless you agree with twain, we should compare culinary arts of one country to another to determine who the greater country is.
Like I said to twain, who is the economic power house of the world? Who is the military power house of the world? Who has the most influence and political influence around the world? America, America, America. Sounds like America is the top or damn near the top in every category.
Don't forget your argument wasn't that America wasn't the greatest nation because of politics. You conceded to twain later on that but you initially (when I started to write) were simply stating that there was no way to measure a nations greatness. Lol you flip flop more than Romney does, I like your style. This is why I was simply trying to shed some light on the issue since this pertains to my studies, that I figured intelligent people would like to gather. However once I stated my argument against it, you intrenched your position extremely fast. I am not surprised though, people do not like when you show them facts against what they believe. It gets people angry and hostile.
Again it's funny how twain caught your mistake and how fast you forget your first argument. It was never about politics and you know it. You should run for president though, you would be a hit. My argument was never based on anything Cerberus said. Hence why my very first post on here said; "Fooglmog, of course a countries greatness can be quantified...." I was just trying to help educate someone a little more on economics...my bad. See I love to learn, I didn't think you would be so hostile towards learning something new. But I forget, a lot of people do hate learning anything of importance so I will stop, you clearly do not want to learn you just wanted to say some ridiculous things to try and get people all riled up.
Depends on who you talk to. If you talk to journalists, psychologists, teachers (non-mathematics) counselors and professions like that then you would find it is common to attach emotions to words. However you talk to mathematicians, accountants, economists, and other professions that heavily rely on mathematics, you would find that they attach less emotion to words by instead trying to quantify data to reach a conclusion. Seeing has how there are more jobs that don't require math as a skill, I guess you are right here...
Again partner, you are boldly lying about Liechtenstein, they are at the top of GDPPC but nearly the bottom of every other indicator....But hey this is why I think you should run for presidency. You flip flop and you don't mind to just flat out lie about things. You sound like a politician already???
Yeah I would say it's a little skewed. There are about 2 business's to every single person in that country. Its going to obviously skew GDPPC but again this requires mathematics to understand why it will, I don't have time to teach you basic math, I sort of assumed when I jumped in the conversation that you had a basic level of knowledge in math. My bad, I know I shouldn't assume. If that were true then think of China and Japans, if GDP is solely based on population then why is America larger than both of them combined??? Again man I can't teach you basic mathematics and economics. I assumed you had a certain level of education but I concede to you on this, I couldn't possibly explain all of it to you.
This is why I need to stop. It has become very clear that your goal was never to learn anything. It was to see how many people you could rile up on the ole threads. I get it, which is why I am leaving the conversation. If the people that I am debating to not have a strong education in mathematics along with good problem solving skills then it is completely pointless for me to even try and have an educated discussion with them. They will just flip flop everything they say, as much as they can to just try and make you look like an idiot. Again, if real learning isn't the objective then I will step aside. My apologies for taking you 2 seriously.
