Well I am sorry that you felt like I was trying to some how suggest that I was better than everyone because I am going for two bachelors. I have to correct that because I still have 3 classes. I was correcting Foog's assumption that I was only focused on my SINGULAR area of academics, in no way shape or form was that meant to be an "I am smarter than everyone" statement. But it is true that economics is less than half of my entire studies. I can't help that people feel that correcting someone is an act of superiority. If that's the way you take it then there is nothing I can do but if you were to ask me, I would even tell you I am pretty much just an average student.
I suppose it can be subjective but can you not see that within the definition there are definable parameters? Why not use a universally spoken language that is economics??
If you were to point out that America does rank 147th in growth, then like the Liechtenstein example I would tell you that there are rational explanations. Now please don't put words in my mouth and say that I am saying it should be "inadmissible and illegitimate" like foog incorrectly suggested that I stated. The rational side would say that growing such an incredibly vast economy at such high rates is rather difficult to do when comparing them to emerging economies. So if you were as knowledgeable in economics you would understand that given the statistics, why such a large economy is ranked lower in economic growth. Don't get me wrong, China is an absolutely white hot economy. The growth rates they are seeing are amazing which is why many predict China will soon become the power house of the world. You can already see the signs with a declining use of the dollar in business transactions and the increase in transactions using yuan.
This part of your rant is just simply insulting. I can't help that you feel so inferior that any correction I make is an act of superiority. I never have nor will I ever claim to be a genius. You on the other hand sound like you have some unresolved issues if a person can't correct something with out making you feel like they are claiming to be a genius or they are superior to you. I would tell you to either grow up or stop being so sensitive. Perhaps both.
And yes I understand that it changes things. I felt like some wisenheimer would say something like 'We weren't the greatest nation back in the 19th century." So I wanted to make sure people knew I was talking about America is the greatest nation at this moment. Clearly through out history other countries reigned has the power house of the world.
