type 10 words to notepad and save it and see how much space it takes, all users posts are drop in ocean in disk space usage.
A typical harddisk has allocation units formatted to 4kb per unit.
In English this means any file on the hard drive will take up 4096 bytes of space (4 kb), or a multiple of it.
You can think of this as having boxes that are 4kb in size, a 1 byte file will still use up an entire box, while a 5k file will use 2 boxes, with the first box having a marking that points to the second box.
Now forum messages in a SQL database are different. :)
