Sounds great to me. Would it be an additional line in the country status like corruption? It would be nice to see like:

Production
Consumption
Decay
Net change

I think I'd prefer that because I'd like to still be able to see my actual consumption when I have a pile of bushels on hand, but I think it is a definite improvement even if you roll it into consumption, and I assume that's probably a much easier change. I'll be happy either way but itd be nice if it had a line on the advisor for my stock phase.
