Hi PL. Early on you want to focus on building CS. These increase the number of building per turn (bpt) you may build. You only start with 5 bpt and many players spend all of their first 40 or 60 turns building CS to get to 15 or 20 bpt respectivly.

After that, you should focus your buildings to one specific strategy. Good strategies for a beginner are casher (ent. zones + residences to make money), indy (industrial complexes to make military) or farmer (make farms to make food).

If you choose farmer for example, you would sell your excess food to make money to build new buildings, buy military and buy technology.
