The targets he grabs are half his size tho?
He could be quite turret heavy and still break those targets. Not easy to retal I reckon.

Just like Magellaan says. Look how big he is compared to everyone else. He's 35% bigger than the 5th place guy and almost twice as big as the people he's hitting. I think they can't retal, or if they could, it would take too much of a sacrifice for too little gain. The guys he's hitting probably have about 1.5m jets and he's probably about a 6m break.

Hopeless - you do realize a techer his size makes almost 15m dollars per turn teching at current prices right? That is 4x more than cashers of the same land size.

For every jet that a casher or farmer can buy, he can buy 1 turret AND 1 jet if he just techs 1/2 of his turns. And I'm willing to bet he is not 1:1 in jet:turret ratio.

There's plenty of countries that haven't been retalled. Why single his country out? I haven't been retalled, and I have just as much land as him. Most good players haven't been retalled yet.

But if you do want to mock him, there's a few things for you:
He bounced a grab this set. Like a newb!
There are cashers and farmers the same size as him, despite tech prices being the best they have ever been.
He's still about 10k acres behind the top indy in land.

I don't think what he's doing qualifies as top feeding, because HE'S on top and so far no one has managed to retal him. I guess he is attacking countries with more land than him, but to him, they're just fat countries I guess, haha.

Not really. The way me (and a lot of other people) define topfeeding is that topfeeding is when you hit someone that you know can you retal you. His last hit would be called midfeeding, because he's hitting someone who actually might retal, unlike bottomfeeding where you hit someone who will not be able to retal.

Most all of his hits are midfeeds. Any of them could retal but he'll try to prevent it.

He's midfeeding. No need to phrase it as anything else. I assume he's picking a fight, but all he's done so far is play a strat that normally stinks on this server fairly well.

I'm curious as to how his wars this set will go. Techer is not known to be the most resilient war strat, but I believe a ttr will probably as productive as a warring commie this set.

Personally I think if he seriously wants to net he has a solid chance at winning this set. Just switch to a demo in a month and max the SDI and at the least he should be able to set the record for highest non-gdi finish.

addendum: I thought that this thread was Hopeless taunting people who weren't retalling him. That Bibigon is his country. Is that wrong?

Hopeless *is* taunting people for not being able to retal BiBiGoN but I don't think BiBiGoN is him.

BiBiGoN seems to be netting. I've seen him around on Tournament etc. and he doesn't seem to play just to stir things up. But I don't think he really can win the set...

I also don't think he needs to convert to Demo in a month. By then who cares? He'll either be stocking and sitting around 20th or already done teching and won't need the land so much. It wouldn't be worth it.

You'd know better then me. I've only ever played techer once(right now in 1a) and I suck at it.

I was just assuming he would face what I faced last set without gdi. Which is a bunch of randoms missiling me for the shiggles in the last few weeks of the set. Even at 20th he'll still probably be the highest non-gdi on the server.

Well I guess I don't know either haha, it's probably a little bit closer call than I thought but I'd rather take the *possible* cost of being nuked with 50% SDI than the *definite* cost of 14% revolution. Go for broke! Play to win!

It's generating conversation because he's hitting people that are probably posting on these boards and probably finish top ten most rounds, heh. I agree though, there's techers with more land than him that are a lot less likely to get retaled than he is.

My sentiments too. Besides a non GDI top theo is just asking to be a missile dump, and if there's anything we know, there is no better missile dump than a theo, max SDI or not.

It'll be interesting when he starts to stock and his NW increase stalls. Everyone who didn't retal him earlier may retal him then. That's my prediction on how he goes down =P

That, or someone treats him as a missile dump.

Either way, he's not finishing top10 IMO.

Also on a side note, I would have played a much more impressive TTR with this kind of prices =P

Yea, how he's going to defend himself once he is stocking?

Compared to last set I would have probably done a extra grab a day if I was techer now since you can afford that with the higher income. Which would put me quite a bit ahead of BiBiGoN land wise. I'm sure you'd have a shot at winning the set if you were a techer oldman.
Do you think it's possible he might have some stock already tho? Then again, with his nw he probably has put most of his income into military. I don't really understand what he's trying to do heh.

Since we all seem to be critiquing him on his play style ill add.

He is not playing for a high end game finish whatsoever. He will spend to many turns later down the road trying to build and spend less time teching for cash. His expenses are very high compared to techers of equal land and 1/2 his size. He is not good enough to be attempting hitting top 10 ppl currently and getting away with it like he tried.

I predict that he will fall from the top very fast as we progress to the later stages of the set. Or become a random missel dump for not going gdi.

And my final thought he could just be playing to have fun with no shot at the top and he knows it and is just causing a ruckess.

Regardless of his aims and motives he has at least accomplished an active thread talking specifically on what he is up to. And that alone could me a small measurement of victory for himself.

BiBiGoN got a bit greedy with his last hit. The others he was more likely to get away with but it didn't even seem hard for Fiscal Cliff to retal. Took only 12 hours.

I dont think the supply from 1 player can affect the market that much

I was kinda hoping BiBiGoN would grow real fat and increase the supply of tech soon, but looks like thats not going to happen

I don't mean you don't price right, I just mean you're a big supplier. :) Add any big techer and you'll see an impact on the prices (not THAT significant but still noticeable I'd wager)

I bet if Rob was playing techer it would drop a noticeable difference. His tech he gives to his allies plus what he would be teching now.

25 turns of tech at 4500 a day we can say 112,500k added plus his 10% he gives to his allies and the 10% he recieves from them. Also Since about 1,200,000 tech is being placed daily and being sold your essentially adding a 10% increase in tech being placed.

So ya I bet he would make a good drop In average prices maybe a 100-200$ less

Now BiBi who has the most networth and the least land in the top ten has been hit twice in the last day! but he was really challenging people to retal with those risky hits and some of them will respond.

Interesting looking at how Fiscal Cliff and Invisible Cities grew to make their retals. Fiscal Cliff was 5.4m net when he got hit and quickly rose up to 7.2m to make the retal. Invisible Cities went from 3.2m net at the time of the hit up to 6.2m net in ~55 hours.

Just goes to show you how fast a techer can grow in networth when you provoke them enough to respond with a retal.

PromiseLand (#234) was ~$3.9mil when hit by both Klince (#208) then BiBiGoN (#92). In just under 2.1 days he grabbed both of them back after growing to $5.8mil net.
