yeah, that was me. I was hoping to break 140m though. None of my stuff sold and all of them were on sale right at the end ($180 jets/turrets and $615 tanks)

How did you choose theo casher? Would you have done as well with a rep?

so my original prediction that the theo casher would win was right :)

I was #167, that retal at the end + my poor endgame play cost me 2nd place

blid: cuz I played theo last set and it sucked, so I decided to give it another shot but with a different strategy. I think rep cash owns theo cash any day...

I'm not quite sure what the advantage of a theo casher would be anyhow...

I played #246 (finished rank 11).

Generally just poor play from me this reset, and I also got landtraded by Herbs and someone else last week, lost about 12m NW to that.

To beat the Theo finishing NW record. :P

The gov description pretty much says it all: Your stock can go 20% further on the private market. Early game you can convert from your tech phase quicker and have more turns to grab & build because of the consutrction bonus. +50% pop boosts your cashing and in a cheap food round like this, doesn't hurt you too much. All the Rep has is +20% PCI, and in the end, that probably trumps all those theo bonuses but theo has its benefits.

That's about it. Lol

#5 was me... horrible set for farmers.

Comparing with a rep,

The advantages:
- spend less turns building CS
- cheaper PM military at the beginning of the set when the public market prices are higher
- can destock at $220/NW instead of $255/NW at the end which is what I did.

The disadvantages:
- 50% more pop means they eat more food than a rep
- lower PCI due to lower business tech and absence of 20% PCI bonus (my PCI was $45 at the end and I believe a rep will be at $63 or $64). This means a lot less cash/turn.

I say the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. The rep should have taken this set if things went his way but I'm not sure why he stopped at 110m. He probably overslept.

Oh, I just saw he never moved his net on the final day. I don't think he could've beat you from something he said earlier, but I bet he had another jump in him.

He also had about 1.5m spies and Rockman was using all his spyops stealing tech everyday anyway.

It does not only cost me 2m tech points, I need to buy up spy tech close to 1m tech point and it doesn't help me in my NW. Then I need to make another grab just to build IC for spies and it affected my PCI a little.

Have to thank Jedioda on his spies contribution, otherwise I prolly loose more.

finished 16th, i can't seem to break beyond 70M NW on this server. Ah well, nice top ten this set, pretty massive.

This set is somewhat exceptional. Military and bushels price is low. Tech point are pretty decent as well. I could have reach more or less 158m NW. All this while I only think that commie would be able to pull this number but it shows that a Rep are able as well.

Did you have stock you didn't spend?

I have about 8 billion in the market. Suppose to make another jump before the set ends but I overslept. :)

I think the game admins should strengthen the farmer strategy (such as with higher PM price). How many farmers finished top 10 in the last 5 resets?

@ xinhuan, i think farmers work well when protected... their weakness in solo servers is probably a necessary imbalance from the balancing of alliance servers.

oil helps a little too: qwertyh; possibly why fasc out competes demo farmers?

Not sure why people still go farmer, it can't compete. It's like tech, except tech randomly owns once every 4 rounds.

I seemed to have missed the last 2 times it owned though, which is the only 2 times I have not played a techer in primary.
