I'm on #190's side there. #153 has no business making a retal if he can be 5x PS'd... Granted, doing a 5x PS invites ABs or missiles or w/e but I don't blame people who don't want to take any guff from extreme jetters.

I'd love to hit that guy again if somehow his missiles disappear. that'll be another 3.5 acres at least for me with 1600 of the buildings i want :) and 50k points of tech i need :)

Buy SDI. In tourney I run high SDI, it's fun. I do kind of like the Old Way that still lives on in tourney... but I wouldn't want that transferred to Primary because I don't want some random idiot ruining my 2 month set.

The worst thing about tourney is the lack of defensive allies. Any moron can top feed or retal on someone almost twice their size. I do like that tanks actually matter again over there. I don't have a problem with current GDI rules... it's a huge improvement that keeps me playing (I quit e2025 because of getting AB'd and missiled by random countries/multis I had nothing to do with).

but I also think it might be interesting if GDI only - #1 prevented someone you never hit from hostile attacking you (AB, missiles), and #2 put a cap on someone you attack once, something like 1-2 missiles or 5 ABs or something. Wouldn't that be just about perfect?

random ABs are hard to stop but it was mostly from the multis to take out the competition. Random missiles can be mostly stopped by SDI. I like not having GDI better. Techers have to tech a whole range instead of half the points going to bus/res And most of the other half goes to indy/agri. With troops/tanks being less than 5% of sales, mbr is effectively obsolete. I'm not sure if that's a good trade off for random ABs.

Yup! GDI hurts techers and MBRs. No diversification of income. And help CIs cause they won't bother with making inefficienct troops and tanks.

I love the new GDI but i think I hate it more. It's sad when I'm not worried about eating 10 random nukes with 0 sdi. I'm actually grinding my teeth worrying about some all jetting topfeeder. Not because he would break me but because he has the advantage of special attacks when I LG him back 10x for not having defense.

I don't think getting rid of GDI would help techers much. They'd sell more SDI but that's not big deal.

It's better as is because back in the old days I used to LOVE Earth and then quit because of some random douche ruining my country. Then come back like two years later, when me remembering the game finally synchs up with a new set starting, only to quit again when the same thing happened, and so on. Now I can play every set without having to quit.

But I don't like tanks and missiles basically being eliminated by GDI. That's why I like the idea of GDI letting someone you hit 0 times not use ANY missiles or ABs, and letting someone you hit 1x use a LIMITED amoun of missiles or ABs, so that a legit player can't have their set ruined when they go along politely 1x tapping, but so that the people getting hit have a way to attack back if they want, and so tanks are relevant, WITHOUT having the power to ruin someone for a 1x.

No blid, the problem is not that someone randomly AB you. The problem was you playing without enough tanks/sdi. I had suiciders hit me before. I've dealt with many multis continuously but I've never logged into a parking lot because I have enough tanks to make it not worth it for them. I'll lose some buildings and they'll go away after taking heavy losses.
In fact, I get ABed so much more often now because I usually don't keep any appreciable amount of tanks. All i gotta do is forget to join gdi or forget who I LG and DT by accident.

The problem was multis, not random ABs.

So the upkeep costs of GDI... how many tanks and troops could that support if you didn't have GDI and have tanks/troops instead?
