Why do i keep failing attacks, the last 2 attacks ive failed, first time was a planned attack and i sent over 1 million more offence units and it was the same the second time as well on a standard attack.

Most likely reason is defensive allies. D-allies have the power to double someone's defense, they don't usually, but that's how high they're able to go.

You need to spy on the country and check its defense, then check your spy page and review the op to see their weapons %. Multiply the defense by that. If the country has d allies, which you can determine with a spy on alliances op, spy on the d-allies as well. Add up their defenses (raw, no modifiers) and divide by 4. Add that to the target's def. Multiply by an extra 1.1 (random factor). That'll get the true amount that needs to be sent.

Of course, you can then divide by 1.5 if you're sending a PS, and divide by your own weap %, and also, factor in gov types as you go.

That's if you want to be 100% sure of success. Otherwise you can use estimates.

1 - government bonus:
a) dict *1.2
b) commi tech difference
c) demo tech difference (less likely)
d) if you're a reppy /0.9

2 - weap tech/def bonus points
a) wrong %
b) if double tapping, their tech increases and your tech decreases after the first grab

3 - def allies
a) *2 if in doubt

4 - pang factor
a) *1.1 for all hits (im not sure whether pang factor is before allies or after, but usually i do 1.1 of the total)

5 - plain stupidity
a) miscalculation
b) sent SS instead of PS
c) didn't check if country NW remained the same before and after calculations
d) typos
e) life fail

Heh..a few years ago I was bouncing from dictators for a while because I started multiplying by 1.1 instead of 1.25 for some reason. Lol.

haven't yet, why? ah.. saw ka mac's message. i bounce on reppies more often, no idea why though. i usually oversend 20% (round everything up)

It's just you. EEStats has a tech calculator (link 1 post up).

Plus, I almost never use that tech calculator, I just go to my saved spy ops page, and look at the weapons% of the target there (it is correct for the target's government).

Yep. The formula just multiplies the number of tech points the Commie has by 1.2x, then uses that new value to calculate the tech%. This 20% tech points bonus only makes up for the 10% loss in commission the Commie first loses by selling his military units, THEN another 10% loss on buying the tech, the Commie isn't actually getting more tech% for the same value compared to a Democracy, though it does slightly when compared to non-Demos.

The saved spy op page. It's where you view all your saved spy ops.... In those saved ops, it actually shows the proper tech % of your targets. You don't need a tech calculator to figure out weapons tech. Just look at the saved op. just remember your targets def bonus % before going there though, as its not there. Lol

I always take a screen shot of my ops if they have a def bonus, then check the saved op for the correct weapons %.
