Does anyone know exactly how much TPT you get from each acre?

Im debating destroying my CSes and dropping them in express just to increase my TPT, figured id ask here because someone here likely knows the answer.

why destroying cs's? unless you have alot of those (beyond 400) then benefit is small.

Assuming you are a 25k techer with 280 CS(70 BPT)

TPT = 0.17 * Labs * (1 + Labs/Land) + 3

TPT = 0.17 * 24720 * (1 + 24720/25000) + 3 = 8360 TPT

If you destroy your CS.
TPT = 0.17 * 25000 * (1 + 25000/25000) + 3 = 8503 TPT

Asumming you destroy 1 bpt worth of CS site for labs,
Destroy 60 CS,Build 60 Labs (220 CS remaining)
Destroy 48 CS, Build 48 Labs (172 CS remaining)
Destroy 36 CS, Build 36 Labs (136 CS remaining)
etc etc etc

eventually you're gonna waste so many turns rebuilding those labs that could be put to use for teching instead.

It's usually not worth destroying the CS because of potential future earthquakes. You also need to account for the turn lost in building the extra labs (from destroying CS) instead of teching that turn, and the cash used for building the labs.

Thanks for the info, probably shouldn't blow them up due to earthquakes. Was just wondering if I had a 100% labs country how effective my TPT would be instead of 99%

if you build up daily those 20 acres then with 0 cs's (5 bpt) you would spend 4 turns to build up instead just 1 so not worth it since you would lose ~8.5k x 3 techpoints instead losing only ~8.3k techpoints and gaining bit higher tpt for rest of day.

220 acres doesnt make enoigh of a diffrence in the privy to effect me on express. but I think it would only raise my tpt by 5 or 6 mabye more.

if you get earthquake and your bpt is 5-10 and eq destroys ~200 buildings then you would spend 20-40 turns on rebuilding instead teching and its easy to calc how much money you would lose when selling techs compared to having spent only ~4 turns on rebuilding.

i actually keep 1 biz/rez/farm/rig to further prevent earthquake damage, and given the cs's, that does less. but you can consider destroying 200 or so cs, so your bpt is 20 and you can rebuild in 2 turns.

While this used to work in E2025, this doesn't actually work in EE. So don't do this.

And destroying CS to 20 BPT? You're nuts, the earthquakes I get in the last 2 weeks are like 1200-1300 buildings destroyed per earthquake. You try rebuilding that on 20 BPT.

For a techer it's probably not worth rebuilding it on 100 BPT.

I think as a techer it is key to drop 1 or 2 acres sometimes when you are about to batch tech. Anyway back to the original topic I wonder if techer should aim for a slightly lower CS style in order to maximize TPT. i.e. if an indy would aim for 45 BPT techer might aim for 40 or 38.

koh: that depends totally how much land you have (most I have gotten on other servers with ~20k acres is ~250 buildings).

qwerty: if you have gotten your landgoal aka no more batchexplores/grabs then and techprices are high then it could be useful to drop bpt to 40 or under while hoping that no earthquakes or at least not big 1s, if still exploring/grabbing then 40 bpt is low since if you explore 120 turns and get ~1k acres then you spend 25 turns to build up instead if you have 80 bpt then you spend ~12 turns to build up so you lose over 10 turns income, same thing with grabbing.

did or didn't that work in earth2025 is good subject for debate but since eqs were random events no1 can say for sure if having 1 building of each type help or not, I did use that trick but did it help or not is mystery since I still got eqs which destroyed buildings (occasionally even 1-2 of those "extra" buildings).

True, Marshal, I've had 3 earthquakes in a 5 day period on 15k and It was almost 300 buildings total, if you have 0 CSs that will cost you lots of teching :-(

i just (few hrs ago) got 438 buildings eq in ffa, luckily it was my non-reseller, while selling military 1 other country got ~500 buildings eq so "bit" money got wasted to rebuilding, not that it (eq) affected much since prices in priv were only 1 buck higher.
