It seams like the definition of a good SPAL increases every set. I fail ops all the time (probably <75% success) and mine is 30+ right now.

Is everyone else experiencing this too?

YES! I keep failing.. and when I finally get an op the guy has like 20 SPAL while mine is higher..

SPAL and total spies/spying in general seems to be fairly broken.

I failed around 6 ops on a non-dict with 7k acres and 150k spies (21SPAL) despite having 700k spies, 26SPAL and dict bonus.

NOT impressed.

Maybe his SPAL was doubled by a big intelligence ally. Do those pacts work like def/off alliances?

Yeah you get allies spies/4 (up to the amt of your spies * gov bonus * tech)

But yeah I agree, I had a 40 SPAL last reset but I failed at least 5 ops/day on ppl w/ like 10 spal.. it was ridic.

Having the same problem, although I will admit my SPAL is only like 25 right now, I am failing 2-3 times in a row to spy into other countries with a SPAL of 30's.

Spies are incredibly messed up. Even a country with high SPAL can get broken in just a couple tries by someone with far far less spies. If you don't believe me, try to get a spy op on #102 in alliance. You'll see how few attempts it takes to get a spy op on a country that should be impenetrable. If you did hostile ops (which you shouldn't do), you'd have the same success rate.

The bell curve for spy success really needs to be fixed, and total spies needs to have more of an effect than it does now. If you look at the power or ABs or BRs against a well defended target in primary, and compare it to the destruction of spy ops against a target with twice your SPAL, you'll see how incredibly unbalanced the system is.

Ya, i just got lucky so far, i noticed something wrong with spies in FFA and Team when stirring rebs or demoing countries far far inferior on SPAL, very frustrating indeed!

I agree its broken. Too bad the game makers disagree.

I just lost 120,000 spies due to failed ops. You would think that they should work like attacking, if you have a better SPAL by 10% you should win 99% of the time. Only difference is if you have a lower SPAL you should have a <50% chance.

WOW. 5 successful ops out of 20 today. Failed a bunch on guys w/ ~10 SPAL. With allies I'm at 20 SPAL, or should I say I WAS at 20 SPAL

I haven't railed an op in quite a while, for some reason. I've caught others, but havn't failed an op yet. Although I must admit that I am only looking to see what they've got.

Failed 2 more today on a guy with 15 spal, WTF!
