Does it pay off to only build the necessary buildings for your strategy like in TEQ? Or is it necessary to do others to get spies and oil?

specialization is key except 200+ indies producing spies besides needed amount of cs's, oil is good to have but not to produce it unless runs oiler or hybrid farmer-oiler.

I don't think the notorious 2025 earthquake rule of having one of each building plays here. Although I use it as cheap insurance.

nope and its working in earth2025 was just a myth (basically impossible to proove its working or not).

I didnt have many earthquakes maybe not even one that I remember this reset. Ill keep one of each building. It's kinda like knocking on wood or black cats. Although I do have a black cat and she kills small animals for fun.

Rainbows are really good don't fall for the trolls bro. If you specialize you produce more, but 9 times out of 10 the markets completely go dry, so I highly suggest a mix of buildings so while those other losers are stuck with no food and oil you are still making progress.

That other guy is trolling about the construction sites too, the general rule is in primary somewhere between 600-800 CS, express more closer to 500. They help you build buildings, not produce, so you definitely don't want ALL of your buildings as CS. I try not to go over half the first 1000 turns.

Also tech is very important, make sure you get plenty of tech, but wait until a turn 1200 or so, getting tech early really doesn't help much and it leaves you open for attack.

Hope this helps, you should be able to top ten easy with this particular strategy.
