If #96 is a farmer, he wins. Else, I give it to #275 or #304.

I don't think 304 has been stocking as long as some of the other guys.

Probably can't rule the techers out. Tech prices were obscenely high and still are pretty high for this point in the set. I'm pretty sure some of the techers have massive stocks by now.

lol @ Rob. Market has been bad this set for cashers.

I'm going to go with either #65 or #275 this set. Please thank me when you win. I contributed to your sales (tech and military).

#65 or Planetary. Planetary (#58) has been stocking for 3 days longer though he's teching about 2k tpt less. Might just have the edge on #65 as food was a little cheaper when he started stocking and has lower costs.

#275 is my pick.

Expensive military, bloody expensive tech and insanely expensive food. How much worse can it get for cashers?

If #275 or #58 wins, they better thank me. I did my part to help :-)

A question on commie destock - I've heard its really powerful destocking as a commie. Can anyone explain why this is so? The worst part of my game is destocking, so please educate me.

Tech has been good this set, so techer might have a chance. Kinda funny tho, a few years ago techer basically was only way to win primary I feel like. I like that now any set, any strategy has a chance (altho this set casher didn't really have a shot tbh, but generally casher can win)

btw no idea who will win (haven't paid much attention to other people since I started stocking)...does seem like all the contenders have ben named at least except for Monaco Lights perhaps...

I think it would be more interesting to do the top 5 predictions (and how it changes as we get closer to the end) like I see in the previous sets threads =P

bobby, i disagree that any strategy has a chance to win. you can't beat a well run CI even if military prices are crappy

I agree with bakku. I realize that this set. No matter how well you play a casher, it's going to be hard to win an equally well played CI. As such, I'm running a CI next set lol

yea, last set the closest non-ci to me was 55m nw behind me and the set before that afaik won by 10m nw despite terrible military prices and high oil prices

#65 is still teching at 8k tpt and had 12 days at 10k tpt. either that or may have just (or be about to) switched to mbr with somewhere in the region of 200-300m bushels + tech. might still be able to push close to $100m or more

i think a well played techer would have been able to beat a commie indy easily this round. tech has been like 3k+ (certain categories) all round.

this is only this round though =P

dunno... with CIs (or fascist farmer/oilers riding on sales at peak bushel/oil prices - eg captain cook v the butcher) being so aggressive and able to grab competitively sized techers when they are stocking it's a lucky techer that will be able to stock in peace and not be hot-headed enough to take a retal knowing ot would put them out of the running.

From my experience with a commie destock it is powerful because much of your destock is just running turns and covering the expenses. When you get to the point that per turn military expenses are greater than the cost to buy on your private, then you buy...but when you average the entire destock the NW/Cost is much less than the private market NW/Cost.

I hope that makes sense. It can be a harder destock to plan.
