each tag already has public newschannel which shows hits made by or done against that tag, not sure if ee newsbot is possible to get to priv. channel.

goto ee-irc's #help or #support and ask.

if not possible then you need 3rd party bots like clever's bots to bring you news in priv.

EE's newsbot already by default creates a new channel for every tag, just for news for that tag alone. The channel name is usually #news.tag (for eg, #news.laf) on earthempires IRC.

For private channels, most clans have their own direct newsfeed from the EE servers, which the clans need to have scripted up their own code and scripts to receive the newsfeed. What the clans do with their newsfeed is then up to the clan to use, which can range from hosting their own clan website with news and search tools, IRC newsfeed, automated SMS/email/alert systems, etc.
